My daughter... in her short note on the back of her info papers. Said it would be the second Sunday before she could write. We have our fingers crossed. We just keep writing her everyday hoping she is at least getting our letters till she can write. :)

Then again...some seem to find the time! Those must be the "writers"! Mine wasn't a writer...he got the crud, then pneumonia (luckily just SIQ) so he was wiped, then combine that with the not a writer thing and stress of beginning weeks. But his div got some calls for doing well.
His only "real" letter home (he did fill out the questionnaire I sent too.)...the first line was,"Now that I have something good to write about..."

Sometimes they don' t get to start writing until the second Sunday they are there. If they do get too...they may not have time. Some have to use their "holiday" time to " catch up"...still getting used to it.
They get holiday time but EVERYTHING had better be in order for them when that time is over...rack, etc...so if it isn't they will use the time to make sure it is.

Will do ChrisNavyMil! I am normally not a worrier but this not knowing is unnerving. I will be glad to have a letter from him no matter what he has to say in it just so I can feel connected again. I am truly grateful for everyone else on here as well so that we can hold each other up. Night all!

momw4d, my SR is in the same ship and division as yours and I haven't gotten a letter as of yet either, and we are still waiting for that first phone call also. I was also wondering if they were getting time to write or not. If you find out anything would you please let me know. I thought it was maybe a division thing.

Good night Wanda

I'm getting ready for bed now and I too will pray for all our SR's!!!

Flbradybunch, I got the impression that this may be something he may do moving forward. I'm sure he'll keep us posted. He's recruited me and other moms to pass his information along. So we'll see...

Good night ladies :o)

I read all about a Sarge hosted meet and greet - I sure hope he does one like that for our PIR!
Comment by Gette on October 6, 2011 at 8:46pm

I feel the same way WandaG.

FTLW, I appreciate all you have passed on to us.  I worry about my daughter because when she gets to stressed it makes her physically ill.  She didn't say anything about getting ill so she is toughening up.

When she was in ROTC and wanted to join military then, it took me a while to get used to the idea.  Once I did my motto became "suck it up and deal with it, it is her wish, support her and deal."

I will support her in any way I can and will keep her and all the recruits in prayer, as well as all service men and women.

You bet Carrie! That's why we're all here; to help each other get through this time. It's like going to therapy :o) Support groups are great! Being part of this group makes the whole situation bearable. By being informed it helps me feel secure and confident.

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone at PIR, especially the Meet and Greet :o)
