Wanda - you are absolutely right, it is her day and she only has 4 guaranteed spots so she needs to make sure the people who are supportive of her are there.  My client office is in the Chicagoland area, and my family is there as well - so even if something happened I could still take the trip.  I am seriously thinking about Southwest simply because they do not charge change fees on the tickets.... just in case.  But air tran is having a fare sale from where I am so that could make a change fee more acceptable.  I have been watching the fares for a while now trying to figure out what to do - but I am an absolutely OBSESSIVE planner (ie. 30 page trip binder for our last 5 day Disney trip)!  Boy is being a Navy mom going to be hard for me - I hate having no control over my little world - LOL!!

Your SR will have listed who she has invited on the form letter. This can be changed but I cannot remember the cut off date. Those listed by your recruit are guaranteed entry to PIR.

Really flbradybunch, you're thinking about booking plane tickets this week. You don't think it's a little early?  I did hear that if you have to change plans that Southwest does not charge a penalty fee.

I would love to book my plane tickets but I have to wait to see if my SR will put my mom on the list. She said she had plan to but I have to wait and see. There is some family conflict. She does not want her father's wife to be included only the people whom she's closest too and have supported her along the way.  I told her ultimately it's her day and the decision is hers. We will respect whatever she decides.

Does anyone know when or how we find out whose on the invite list for PIR? Do we find out from our SR's letters?

Welcome to the group pb2011!  Glad to hear those letters are starting to be received for our group - I am still on pins and needles and hoping to book plane tickets this week!  My son is Ship 12/Div 003.

Yes, you can post the ship and DIV, just not his name, You can add the ship and DIv to your name if you like and that will help others find you :-)

I received my son's form letter today and there was time for him to write a paragraph on the back! Is it ok to post my SR's ship and division? was hoping to find another mom in his group.

I have not received my form letter yet but I mailed my 2nd letter today to my daughter.

I don't know, since I got the address from the recruiter I've been so happy. It feels good having an address to write her and to know the division she's in. Plus I was elated to learn her PIR is 11/18 because I have Radio City Xmas Spectacular tickets the weekend before for my mom's 75th bday.

I'm just so proud of her! Anyways, I just had to share :o)

Hello everyone, I am another veteran mom here to help. I know right now it seems like there are more veteran mom members in this group than there are those who will be going to PIR but don't worry, this group will grow quickly when the form letters  start arriving. For now just start writing those letters every day. They will live for hearing their name called at Mail Call and they say it is almost as good as Christmas. please let us know if you have any questions at all. We are all here to help and happy to do so.
