While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hi! Just received my letter today & my son is also ship 2-div 902. We are from Louisiana. Not sure how we will be traveling up as we will have 6 people going up for PIR. Not sure what the weather will be there around that time, which makes me nervous about driving in winter weather ( we don't get much "winter" weather in LA-lol)

Got a letter today from my daughter ship 2 DIV 902 she said she was graduating on the 23rd of November so I am confused???

Some of the SRs were told their PIR was 11/23 and it is on their form letter that was sent. It appears that those who got to processing early, as this group was starting, were the ones given the wrong PIR date. It had been confirmed by the RTC that the PIR date is 11/21 not 11/23.
Your daughter may have written the letter before she knew of the change in date. You might even be the one who lets her know...LOL

Thank You Ellen this is good to know I started making arrangements for the 23 it makes sense with the Thanksgiving Holiday but what will happen will they get time off for the Holiday?

I heard the 900 group is for people that play instruments my daughter does not play an instrument anyone know why they would put her in this division and what will they use her for?

They choose them for several reasons. Asvab scores, college credits, past band or marching experience etc. 902 is flags, which they call sticks. They do the flag performance part of the PIR.

Thank You Sherry!!! I heard about the sticks still not 100% clear but good to have an idea. Does anyone know what happens to the SR after graduation since the next day is Thanksgiving.

There are 3 types of 900 divisions. There are the Band/Bluejacket Choir/Drill team, otherwise known as Triple Threat (the musicians, singers, and drill team), the Sticks (those who carry the state flags), and the Ship Staff/Honor Guard (the body snatchers, those who guard various things...). Three 900 divisions perform their duties at each PIR, the 900 division(s) from that TG and if needed one to three 900 divisions from the next one or two TG's. Each 900 Division performs in their own PIR and in the PIR for one or two TGs ahead of their own. They may also have performances in the community--that happens mainly for the Triple Threat though.
