Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 009 & 010!

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like
Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

This is my SR group his first name is Josh. I look forward to meeting others.

hi, my Daniel is here, div 009, we call him danny. he turns 19 on 10/15 but we were told not to make a deal or it will get him extra pushups, so dont tell non of your SR's please. danny should be an E3 when he graduates because he was a sea cadet for two+ years. He will remain at gl for A school after graduation and his rate is undesig seaman, he was told he could be offered an aviation job while he is there, but from what everyone told me, that is hardly likely. He accepted undesig. so he could get in sooner.

I am an RN, and i was scheduled to work throughout thanksgiving. I just got a co-worker (ex millitary) to swap his schedule with me so i could go to graduation, that was a prayer answered. but i have to be back to work friday night, at least we can spend thanksgiving with him.

just wondering how they work out the divisions? is it based on rates? i noticed some divisions have jobs, like ribbons or band, how did they decide that i wonder and does div 009 have anything special or different going on?

I think you should post this to the comment wall for a veterans see and others probably have the same questions- I am not sure they come into these sub divisions to much.

Hello! My grandsons name is Matt & he is E2 S-PACT in Div 009. He also signed undesignated so he could get in sooner. Got the form letter and now I'm waiting impatiently for a letter or phone call even tho I know they'll be brief. I told him to pretend he was texting so maybe I'll get some answers to the many questions I've had for him.

Me, my husband, his Mom, & younger brother are planning on driving up for graduation but we're not sure yet how long we will be staying. Can't wait to see him in his uniform!

It's good to know others on here that are in the same boat. (no pun intended!)

I'm glad I've been telling myself all this time that "no news is good news".  It must have been training for Matt's Navy career.  So I'm being paid back... I hope he is learning as much as I did!

So we have Matt, Danny and Josh! I love this division concept. Let me share Josh -Div 010 - he was the #1 bassoonist in SC and had a scholarship to Univ of SC. He came home after freshman year and said he wants to join the Navy. After we talked and met with a recuiter he signed up and started BC Sept 14th - he will be in CTR (Cryptologic Technician).

Josh has an older sister that just graduated college AND is working and a younger brother is a freshman in college. Josh was asmoed for "running his mouth off" in the bathroom, he got 2 extra weeks! It must have been a lesson they feel he really needed to manage.

I never got a form letter but last Friday I got my first letter from him.

I work for Wells Fargo downtown Charlotte NC and am a Business Application Management leader in Retail Retirement. Last note, my children lost their Dad in 2007 but we survived and we are all doing great! I look forward to meeting you all and your future sailors!

Welcome!! I am also flying up on Nov 20 and signed up for Sarge meet and greet. I am at the resident Inn. I heard from my son 2x. Once for more references and once to tell me he was amosed. I did get a letter , not form, and he is exhausted. Said everything from walk talk and making bed is regimented. This lack of communication kills.

Cute Kitty

Hello everyone my SR first name is Jacob he is in div 009.  He will be attending A school in GL.

Jacob has two little sisters ages 9 and 7.  They miss him like crazy.  I am very fortunate that we have family that leaves about 25 min. from the base.  We will be driving in on 11/20 hoping we will be able to attend the meet and greet.

I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Welcome Beverly and Jacob!!!

same here, a little phonecall would be nice!
