Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 017 and 018
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

my SR is in 04/018 too and I've not rec'd a call in almost 2 weeks - which is driving my crazy plus I've not rec'd any letters either. I'm wondering since yours hasn't called either if their div got in trouble? I know that some extra talking has gotten them in trouble a few times before.
Mine didn't have to deal with the wisdom teeth either - yeah!! He was so glad. He there were quite a few in 018 that had theirs yanked. They had bed rest (he called it something else) for 3 days but they were hurtin. :) So one solid from my kid is "the food is great". LOL that boy can shovel some food away!!
J Freshie - My SR is headed to San Antonio for A School. He said the majority of the guys in his group are going to Pensacola. I was worried when I read how many where headed to FL then we talked and he assured me that he's still headed back down here to Texas. I'm so glad. He'll only be 5 hours from home if he ever gets any time off.
Hello everyone,
I am very new to this site, but my SR is also going to Pensacola for A school. He Ship 04 Div 018.
Good morning Moms, We're more than half way through this portion of our SRs journey. I'm excited and nervous for PIR. My son is struggling passing some of the physical tests and I try to encourage him and tell he can do it, but I can't help the passing thought every now and then, that maybe this won't happen. Then I push it aside and get back into mom mode and say "that boy is so stubborn, when he sets his mind to something, he can tackle anything".
Good morning, heyma313! Ha ha, I've been thinking the same things about my SR. I really do believe that they're going to do well, though. It's impressive to hear the change in my son's voice already.
@GsMom, WHEW, glad I'm not the only mom that has had that thought at least once. Sometimes he sounds down in his letters but he cracks a joke or writes something funny and I can tell its not that bad. They'll make it. I wish I knew if our sons were together.
Hi , all
I did not get a call this weekend . Last call was on the 19th. Did anyone else hear from their SR? My son told me food is great seems to be one common core. He was in very good spirits but tired last I spoke to him. He passed his swim. I would love to hear about his PT but no call this weekend . Anyone get an update or call please post how 04/018 is doing this week. Thanks
Hi Judictia
I received letter also recently. Wonder why they were not allowed to call this past weekend. Hope they get to call us this weekend. Aww wonderful they were able to give your son /SR some birthday cheer. That is truly caring as a team.
My son's birthday coming up soon in November as well.
