Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 017 and 018
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

My son, Marcus, is in Ship 13 DIV 017. He was able to call Saturday morning. he said he is calling cadence for his division and that is throat is sore. And that he has had 3 vaccines, His root canal is possibly infected so they gave him penicillin. He is TIRED but doing okay. They were awake quite a while when they first got there but that is over now and the days are being counted down.
I sure miss him but it was good to hear his voice!
I was the same way! Was getting my hair cut and styled when he called so I forgot all my important questions. He said his throat was really hurting and that he felt like he was getting sick. But it was so good to hear his voice! I hope he gets to call again this weekend. Sending calling cards is my next step. Mailed one earlier today.
I am new here also my son is Ship 13 Div 18 he called on Saturday he sounded very tired but better after our talk. I got a letter yesterday saying they have all been sick and one possible case of chicken pox.
Yes I hope your son is better mine had. a whopping case of pox at three so he is good there I think all of there feet hurt. Yes we got the letter hope you get one soon.
Hi Oregonmom68, I got a letter from Thomas today and Austin and him had a good laugh when they got together and figured out that we had talked. Thomas said that things are going good and that they are counting down the days.
Hi I think they should all be feeling better by now hopefully sickness has run its course. Hoping for a phone call today I hope you are all getting letters they helped me a lot.
You can send calling cards. I bought one with 150 minutes and called to activate and then to set up the pinless calls to the three important numbers for him (mine, his father's, and his brother). I then sent a note with the access code and pin number.
I think that they can buy them in the NEX (and we sent some cash with our son) or else someone was nice and let him use their minutes.
Hope this helps!
Hi all, so glad to have this forum and group. I talked with my son on Saturday and he did not mentioned any sickness. I sure hope they all can get that out of their system and get healthy, quick! He did mention how warm and humid it was. I think the cooler nights might help alleviate some of the stickiness and get rid of those germs :)
I received a little letter this week and that was wonderful to see. I sure hope you all received a little something from your recruit as well. My son said that so far it wasn't too tough but this past week was going to be the start of the "true" training as he called it.
Just curious how old your recruits are and where they are in the birth order or only children? Where are your recruits off to after PIR?
