Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 019 and 020

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Not yet my Air Force recruit's ship date keeps getting changed, He was first supposed to ship out 8/22/13 but that got moved to Oct 28th....I am not sure if that will get moved again because of all the budget stuff.  I selfishly hope it does just so I am not trying to go to Texas between New Years and Christmas :-)  Its hard enough to get to Great Lakes just before Thanksgiving :-)

I'm in Calaveras Co, we are leaving from Sac. was it a big change in price?

Hi .

I think it is. I got two round trip tickets on Southwest leaving from Oakland for under 700.00.

You can private message me if you want more details.

Check around Janell I saved almost $200.00 per ticket and since I was buying two of them it was worth the extra drive.  Also I never thought about Oakland Airport that might help too.  I was not familiar enough with Great Lakes to try the other airports in that area either. According to the main page you can also save some money by flying into a different airport (then O'Hare).  I already told my kids I spent their Christmas Money on plane tickets and hotel rooms :-)

Good morning all!  If any of you are not able to make it to the PIR but want to send some items to your SR, I'd be more than happy to deliver it if at all possible!  As the time draws closer, I'll have to coordinate it to where we can all meet at one location so it doesn't take away too much time from my own SR (who is staying in GL for A-School)

Good Afternoon Ladies/Families,

So am I the only one who's going completely crazy? Has anyone in Ship 14 Div 020 gotten anything yet? A letter...a call....a smoke signal.....carrier pigeon....ANYTHING???? I feel so disconnected. I would love to hear from him, hear his voice. I must admit these last few days have been a teary struggle. I miss my only son. My daughter is trying, bless her heart to fill the 'void' but we both end up crying. I hope we get something this week/weekend. I am so happy for all the families that have received calls and mail but I just wonder why we haven't. I know they say that no news is good news but I WANT SOMETHING....for ALL of us who havent heard anything yet!! LOL

Everyone have a great day......BTW.... I'm in Boston well just outside of Boston. Im in Watertown...yes THAT Watertown. Anyone else flying from this area? Can't wait to meet you all.

Hugs and don't forget to share as soon as you hear anything!!

Teri

Nothing.  Absolutely nothing!  Hopefully today we'll get a letter at least!

I'm getting frustrated too!!  I want a call or at least a letter! Grrrrrrr

My mail came...nothing today :(

Hi scootersmom. You are not the only one. I feel the same way. My daughter is in the same Ship & Div as your son. I find myself on this computer more and more when I should be doing other things. I guess we all hang in there together. Hopefully we hear or get a letter soon. NMH>>

I can add myself to that ever long....I received NOTHING list & the I'm FRUSTRATED list! I agree, a letter, a call something!!! Just to know something, anything would be a release of this built up stress of the not knowing! I keep sending letters (everyday) so at least she knows we are thinking of her! I am hoping that this weekend my phone rings & it's her, even if its only a 5 min call it will put my mind at ease!
Ok well im on my way home. I'm gonna ransack my mailbox!! T minus 12 minutes til I'm home.... Send a prayer!!
Ok.... So sad right now. Nothing in the mail. Ill just gave to hope got tomorrow. :(
