N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

jrwmdro06.26 - I am so sorry to hear about your son's knee, hopefully they can repair it and he can continue on, will be praying for him and your family.

I also got the call from my SR 20 min also 06-026 - We still haven't gotten the form letter so it was really nice to hear from him, he said it was mailed the first week.  Gotta love the snail mail.

I pray that everyone is doing well...

1 Peter 5:7 "casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you." This was my on my Daily Reading this weekend, thought it was a perfect fit.

I just finished a 20 minute phone call with my SR. 06-026. So great to hear his voice! Wish he had better news however, he injured his knee on day one. My SR chose Navy over attending college, this means the world to him and he sounded pretty down about the knee. He's seeing a specialist this week. All we can do is pray that it's repairable and if so they will repair and he will be delayed a few weeks, otherwise coming home sad to say. He said Unit is messing up a lot, food is awesome, (content removed)*. 6 have left the unit. They're on TD 2-1 and BS-21 is scheduled for 6-1. If you pray please pray his knee is repairable so he can continue. Thank you and I hope you all hear from your SR soon.

*Removed for "well being" of recruit

Good Morning!

Nickyra:  If booking Navy Lodge in your sailor's name. you may be asked to have your sailor stop by sometime after PIR just to confirm all is well with your reservation.

Comment by jrwmdro06.26 on October 19, 2015 at 6:23pm

No, nothing special as they only have day leave no sleep overs. You just give them your SR's name. They have good rates, small kitchens, good for families as rooms seem larger.

If staying at the Navy Lodge, does the SR need to do anything special to spend their Liberty Days?

Comment by jrwmdro06.26 on October 19, 2015 at 5:35pm

Nickyra04 - Yes, so much more expensive but we do get an extra day so worth it. I believe my SR will be in GL for at least 3 months...but could change as we all are learning. Technically my son arrived 10/5 but very late, nearly midnight.I heard a tip that flying in to Milwaukee is cheaper, of course after I purchased tickets. Might be worth a look. Staying at Navy Lodge as it's really close by.

diannep, Thank you and I have sent you a friend request to find out more info on Battle Stations.

jrwmdro06.26 - I am sorry i forgot  - He is going to San Diego for school but when we spoke on his "I'm Here" call he said he would be staying in GL for 5 weeks A School.

Comment by Nickyra04 on October 19, 2015 at 5:25pm

jrwmdro06.26 - Crazy thing is I got the box on Thursday 10/08 so I have been anxious about the letter.

PIR - Thanksgiving is a blessing and a curse huh?  Flights are alot higher but we will get more time with our SR, of course that means more Nights in the Hotel, and the siblings won't miss school.  We are excited to plan the trip.

Comment by diannep on October 19, 2015 at 5:13pm

I'm thinking that BattleStations for this PIR group will be Wed and Thurs nights the week before PIR week, and Sun night of PIR week.  Can't get "division specific" on this site....we can only trade exact dates by private message.
