Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 023 and 024
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

Wacky Wednesday!! woo hoooo! Let's get this division!
I have tried to figure out every possible way to do it quicker. I have a system from last week, but can't seem to type it on Facebook fast enough... I think I was the 4th one to get all the answers last week. I have to show a couple of houses tomorrow (I am a real estate agent)... hopefully they go through them quick so I can get back in time (do you guys remember what time it was last week? I am thinking it was around 11 or 12 Mountain time?)! Maybe my husband can type the answers on Facebook while I find the answers :-)
DeborahRC and addgrey : I am so sorry...I am totally useless for Wacky Wednesday...I can't even find the flipping pictures!! I tried the NRTC facebook page, and also the group page, but I all I find is pics from previous winners! I never claimed to be computer savvy, but now I'm really embarrassed :/
I owe that apology to 2ndTimeAround and Bookster also!!
Gail: Hang in there!! It seems that the mail takes about 4 days (from IL to TX anyway) so tomorrow, or Friday, may be your day!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and addgrey!!
lol MommaJ....no apologies :) I gave it another go yesterday and even had a second pair of eyes at work helping to no avail.
My SR is on ship 11 Div 24 he left home on Oct 10 and it seems like a year ago...Got a call Saturday night and was so excited I had no idea what to be asking him ..Now each time I think of something it gets written down so Ill be ready..Looking into flights today cannot wait until 11/26 to see my son again
Wow- he left 9 days after my son left home- yours is lucky and getting done quick! Welcome to the group!
I GOT A LETTER!!!! SO EXCITED!!! It was actually 2 full pages and full of lots of info on things I can send him... he asked me to copy pages of a Harry Potter book- a few a day, so he could have something to read. He misses news and sports info and mostly misses music and TV (I wasn't on the list- LOL). He says they go to "recruit heaven" on th 19th and then they can call people, go online, play games, watch tv, eat Taco Bell and buy stuff from the NEX.
November 19th. I have a running document where I have been typing all his letters and I paste in pictures that I take and such. I have also been printing out his friends' Facebook pages. He told me he wasn't interested in keeping up with any news when he left, so I hadn't done that, but I will probably just take pictures of newspaper articles and paste them in and print. It was his creative idea about the book! I need to figure how how that will turn out tonight- I think I will grab it on Kindle and print pages. :-)
I GOT A LETTER TODAY TOO!! It was also 2 full pages. He says he is doing very well and has made some new friends. He got all his shots and when they drew blood he almost passed out. He was surprised how many recruits were sent home after the "moment of truth" - more than 20. He also became a section leader. On the front of page 1 was a blue smear, I thought maybe tears had fallen, but at the end of page 2 he apologized for the blue spot of shaving cream he had dropped. HaHaHa I will save this letter forever.
Wow- why get all the way there and then admit to something?! Crazy there was that many. Congrats on your letter!
KattPIR- that is exactly what I am doing, writing things down so I will have easy conversation flowing, because I was just in awe last time and kept repeating myself, "so how are you??"
My son is also ship 11/div 23! PIR 11/26! woo hoo
addgry-YAY on getting your letter!!
