There are also restaurants in the area the have Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday. I haven't seen them "pop" up yet, but as soon as I do I will provide some links for you.

While I am bring the family,home made "pumpkin pie" to surprise my son, we will be going out for the meal... Then just chilling. UNLESS he says he wants to get take-out and eat watching a movie while living in the shower :)

Hi everyone! The question has come up about what we are doing Thanksgiving day. Our family will be staying at the Navy Lodge. I know our SR's are very tired, and I'm thinking my son will want to just hang out, sleep, and eat. Any suggestions? Several of us will have kitchens...if we did "cook" we would have to get everything that Wednesday...or we could go out to eat, and just make snacking stuff for everyone. Any ideas?

Correct, Sarge's MeetandGreet is the night before PIR at the Sundance Saloon (closed off for this MeetandGreet....all family member, including children, welcome), about 4-5 miles from RTC, near the Walmart (close to the following hotels:  Springhill Suites, Residence Inn, Courtyard Inn, Holiday Inn Express).  He hasn't posted the link for this group yet so you can read more about it and RSVP, but be sure to keep checking the EVENTS column to the right of this page (hit View All) since he should post it soon.

Nate'sMom:  That cold lake wind can cut through you, so layers may be appropriate (what we did in Feb when there). Comfortable walking shoes regardless and keep in mind you will be climbing in bleachers.  We suggest dressy casual.....but anything is ok really.  Just remember that the sailors will be in their finest....so you may not want to wear the ragged cut offs (with threads hanging down), tank top and flip flops!  No kidding...there was a man at our PIR dressed like this...the first week of FEB....temp outside was in the 20's or lower.  Sigh...  :-)

I hope that it is because I fly in on the morning before PIR. Long flight, but anywhere is a long flight from Alaska, even within the state.

We're in Texas now, but three of my kids were born in Alaska.
My current SR in div 803 was born in Juneau. We should try
to meet up at Sarges.

I am in Anchorage, Alaska. I am so glad that the graduation is at the end of November. I checked on the weather.com site and it says that their average low in November is 31 degrees. That is balmy for here...lol
