Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Got a call, too!!! I yelled when the phone said PAY PHONE, lol!

On the down side, he is super homesick. He was crying a little and said he wants to come home. We were very encouraging, and he did say he knows it will be worth it, but he's missing us so much. *sigh*

He also said he has been in sick bay a few times and has fallen behind a little

:-( he didn't have time to tell me why, but I hope he can get caught up and graduate with all your kids!

I was so glad to hear his voice!! But I just want to hug him now, and make it all better. He won't be 18 till graduation day . . .

I have no milk, no eggs, husband thinks he's starving...but I can't go to the store. I will be holding vigil by the phone. Congrats on everyone's phone calls!!! I'm lighting a blue candle, and crossing my fingers!!

Daughter called. She sounded real good. Started crying half way through the call. Just so happens my mom and sister were with me so she got to talk to them too. She said that got extra IT this morning. Says her feet are killing her.

Thanks abitofwhimsy.  I sent her with a ton of calling cards and she is sharing them with other recruits which makes me feel like a proud Momma.  I hope others continue to receive phone calls throughout the day.  It is such a spirit booster!
