~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hello. I think this is the right spot for our family. My son had origianlly said he would graduate Nov. 29. It just dawn on me today that was Thanksgiving weekend and I know is division is 800 something. So this may be where I belong. I to find out what Div he is. So graduation would be that Wednesday?
Terri: What they say about extras is this: RTC asks that extras do not come to RTC. In "special circumstances," they will allow some to watch the Livestream Feed of the PIR service in the Chapel (I'm thinking in the case of a young child missing out and having to stay in the Chapel with a parent to watch it). This is the message I received from the PAO about that:
Ma'am,
We would like extra guests to stay off base to watch the PIR live streamed. If a guest absolutely needs to be on base and is not on the guest list they will go to the Chapel.
Respectfully,

I am the same way, Terrii. It is me, my husband, my daughter and son. My daughter is 15 and wants to join the Navy too, so I feel it's important she goes. My son is only 4, so that means either my husband or I have to stay at the hotel and watch it from the computer.
No, most likely they will not fly out on Thanksgiving, unless there is a problem getting flights on Friday. For the past 3 yrs, they have flown on Fri after Thanksgiving.
Ship 02 div 903
TJsMom....I would think they should have Thanksgiving off. Most admin. offices would be closed for the holiday. But, as this is the military, everything is subject to change and there could be a special reason why a sailor would have to fly out on the holiday.
I just wanna say I really LOVE that counter clock for the PIR date! Its a great count down and puts it in perspective and how long till he is a sailor and we get to see him! Thank-you!
Does anyone know if they will have them fly out the next day for school, since it is Thanksgiving?
