HI MY SON IS PART OF THE SAME SHIP/DIV !!!!!! HOW DID YOU FEEL WHEN "THE BOX" ARRIVED.....
I didnt want to wash his shirt! LOL! I was fine with washing his jeans, socks and underwear, but it took me a couple of days to wash his shirt. :)

i put his shirt into a ziplock bag

I never saw the box and stilled cried when my husband said it had arrived that day

receiving the box was a very weird feeling!!!!!

Did anyone else receive the extremely negative letter from their sailor about their chief?
When my son called the day after Thanksgiving he said the Chief had them to write a letter to their Mom's telling them how much smarter they (recruits) thought they were than him but when they were done they were supposed to tear them up. It was mainly done because a lot of them weren't paying attention to what the chief was saying. Sort of like the school teacher makes you write 100 times on the chalk board I will not talk in class. He said Chief was great and that he had been there for 22 years and he said he cared more about the recruits than himself. My son is on Ship12, Div 39.
My son is also on ship 12 Div 39. I received a letter yesterday from my son and although the envelope was addressed to both his father and me, the letter was addressed "Dear Dad", and it was horrible. The entire letter was totally trashing his chief. At the end was a P.S. saying that his chief had ordered him and everyone in his division to write the letter. I was just wondering if anyone else received a similar letter. I know that this past Sunday was a big mail day for him as all of this siblings wrote to him (he has 4), both his father and I, 2 Aunts, an Uncle, 2 Grandmothers and 2 friends. If not being able to respond to all of those letters was his and possibly his divisions' punishment, it would have been a very effective one as I have stressed to him that he must write back to those who write to him if he wants to continue to hear from them.

yes i received a similar letter
