Welcome to Your Division!  I hope you will be able to attend the Meet and Greet.  Just to make it fun I hope you will take a little time and design a simple flag to represent your division at the Meet and Greet that will be used to designate your divisional table.  While we will all meet together as a PIR group it will help you find each other as a division as well!  Show your creativity!!   Each division will have some individual issues because each division will be unique.  I hope you can support each other in those issues here.

BAD NEWS! I'll not be attending PIR with all of you next week.

Halee complained of shin pain--told me she had x-rays last week or so--was cleared & today while she was running her last PFA the final part --BS21 was within her reach and sudden pain--next step brought her to the floor. Ambulance ride to VA--Fractured her tibia. Now in a full leg cast from upper thigh to toes.

Don't know where she'll stand as far as her progress as her running times were all good prior to the final PFA. All she had left to do was BS21. So as to being set back--we don't know how much, etc...

She was able to call home from the VA--she was crying and the pain meds weren't helping. I tried to encourage her as best as I could as she's come so far.

The mom in me is tearing apart inside--the nurse in me knows she'll be okay and that this type of fracture recovers well...just that it will take time. Not being able to be kept up on her status will drive me nuts. But I know they'll take good care of her.

Lynn--you've been a great support and I want to thank you. Now it's going to be wait & see for me. She wants this so bad--so I know she'll pull through--so now she'll probably spend her holidays there & her bday is coming up in a few weeks too and we can't send her anything but cards/letters.

I just hope that the Navy doesn't give up on her!
I am soo sorry to hear about your daughters injury...I can only imagine how devistated she must be, especially to be so close to the end. She will be in my prayers for a speedy recovery.
Thanks! I feel in my heart--she'll get through this--but she's so close to Sailor status--and it was a clean break--so hopefully--she'll just pick up where she left off--but it'll take just as long to recover as it did going through boot camp!
AmeliaGrumma,

I read your post and couldn't help but to respond. I know exactly how your daughter feels. I'm probably one of the younger ones on here. I just graduated high school, but I spent 6 months in wheelchair, and a year re-learning how to walk after an injury. I felt as if all of my hopes and dreams came crumbling down. I had planned on playing Division 1 basketball in college since I was a little girl. I cried on a nightly basis, and was frustrated that my body let me down when I needed it the most! But I must say, looking back on it, I think your daughter will learn so much more than imaginable. Things will slow down for now, but when she's recovered, WATCH OUT! That girl will be unstoppable :) What doesn't kill us makes us stronger, right? God has plans for your daughter. I look back and see my injury as the biggest gift. It has taught me such patience with myself and has allowed me to appreciate the simplicity of walking and running again. She'll be crushed for a while. I remember calling my mom from the hospital barely being able to utter any words. If it weren't for my mom, i wouldn't have been able to bare any of it. Her positive attitude got me through it. You have such a wonderful attitude about all of this, and I cant tell you how important that is. Stay strong :) I will keep your daughter in my prayers.
Thank you Ilovecountry it means so much to here others success & progress! All prayers are always welcomed. Right now she has to get out of this slump that she's in! Once she gets past that--then she'll get back in to a routine!

Thank you again!
Tracy
Dear Amelia, I am so VERY SORRY!! I had someone give me this verse from the Bible and a little Story. I thought only if we could all learn to rise above the Storm. I hope you can use this. You are all in out thoughts and prayers.

Isaiah 40:31
"But they that wait upon the LORD
shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as EAGLES
they shall run, and not be weary;
and they shall walk, and not faint"

Did you know that an eagle knows when a storm is approaching long before it breaks? The eagle will fly to some high spot and wait for the winds to come.
When the storm hits, it sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm. While the storm rages, below the eagle is soaring above it. The eagle does not escape the storm, it simply uses the storm to lift it higher. It rises on the winds that bring the storm.

When the storms of life come upon us ... and all of us will experience them ... we can rise above them by setting our minds and our belief toward God.

The storms do not have to overcome us, we can allow God's power to lift us above them. God enables us to ride the winds of the storm that bring sickness, tragedy, failure, and disappointment into our lives. We can soar above the storm.

Remember, it is not the burdens of life that weigh us down, it is how we handle them.
B2bparts THANK YOU THANK YOU--that is so appropriate and it's so true--I'm going to send this to her and remind her of how strong she really is!

Sometimes we also just have to be reminded of who is really in control as well!

Thanks
Tracy
AmiliaGrumma....this too will pass. Sometimes our trials feel like they will last forever, but time flies by and trials are looked back upon as long ago. You probably know and understand that, but when people are young like your daughter, they think that what is happening now will last forever. Keep reminding her that someday she will look back on this trial and as "ilovemycountry" and "B2bparts" said, she will rise above this and be stronger because of it! Sending lots of prayers to you and your daughter.
Thank you--you are so right! The outpouring of prayers & support have been wonderful.

Tracy
