Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Recruit Nicholas is ship 02 div 905 and I am a proud mom and lastly my son PIR is 12/17

also I called RTC and yes they will have a PIR on the 22nd because they will not have one on 12/24
My recruit is also ship 02 div 905. Glad to have company. I wonder if there are any more N4M's in our Division
Not sure I would assume so but they haven't found us yet.
I am new to N4M's.My daughter is on ship 02div905. My recruit is a singer and was hoping to get a 900 division. I am pleased she got a ship named for Adm. Grace Hopper, an early computer specialist. My daughter is older, 27, and married. We are hoping to drive up to RTC for the PIR on 12/17. I'm very excited that they will perform for the PIR. I am planning to take a small, predecorated tree and a few decorations for the Navy Lodge room. My daughter will not be coming home (TX) before A school (IT- Pensacola) and my son-in-law active duty Navy) can't take more leave for the Holidays so my daughter may be alone for Christmas. Is anyone else planning to go to PIR? The way my son-in-law drives (combat driving, learned in Iraq) it is a 16 hour drive.

Welcome to N4M's. Congrats that your daughter is in div 905, and also that she is on her way to becomming a Sailor. Being a current Navy wife I am sure she was well prepared for her journey to boot camp. And hats off to you for raising such a strong young lady.
our family is planning on attending PIR. I have a very large family and 1/2 of them live in Illinois so they all want to go. It should be interesting. I will be traveling from FL.
My son will be in A school in Pensacola as well. I heard that they "may" let them have leave for the Holidays so maybe we will get lucky.
It will be nice to get to know you here, this site has been a wonderful support and all of the mom's are very encouraging.

Oh and my recruit I think is in the Band, he plays the Sax.
I have heard a lot too. Before my husband retired, when we PCSed( permanent change of station), sometimes he would have a report no earlier than, and report no later than dates that gave us a lot of leeway in travel. And since it will be during holiday stand down? My daughter's father-in-law, a retired chief, says the week he spent in a transient barracks was the longest year of his life. And practical matters, even tho they will be out of boot, they are still babies in the Navy, and the Navy can keep a tight rein on its assets. If they do take leave, they will be "going in the hole" and my daughter has already said she won't do that. She plans to take leave in the spring to come back here to supervise movers for the PCS to her permanent duty station.

We just need to prepare for the worse and hope for the best. It would be nice to come back to Texas with 5 instead of 4 in the car, but I'm going to try to make a little Christmas in our room in case she goes straight to Pensacola.

And think of it this way, lots of people pay thousands of dollars for a week at Christmas at the beach in the tropics.

Remember, its not sour fruit, it is the makings for lemonade. After Great Lakes in December, Pensacola is lemonade and sugar cookies.
Yeah for our performers. My son played tuba and trombone for the last seven years, I do not know if he will be coming home for the holidays, his "A" school is in the Great Lakes so that is up in the air. I will be traveling with my daughter to the PIR and we are staying at the Navy Lodge. I still need to rent a car coming from South Texas and the average temperature in December with a high of 31 I do not think we want to be walking from place to place. I would love it if my son gets to perform at PIR but I do not know. Take care I will check in later.
My daughter started off playing flute, but after nearly dying of heatstroke while marching on black top, I managed to convince her it was a lot more fun to wear an evening dress and sing in AC venues. She is a soprano, and has sung in a variety of groups both in and out of school. From what I have read on line, the performance groups perform a lot, as much as 3 times a week during the latter weeks of Boot. This is of course in addition to all of the regular responsibilities.

We are in the Dallas area, and my husband is disabled with breathing difficulties. He is very pessimistic about being able to make the trip, but I am trying to convince him to put his faith in our son-in-law, an extremely competent 10 year Sea Bee. We will be going up with my other daughter who graduates in December from UTAustin. Very, very busy month.
wow , sounds like you do have a lot going on. Your daughter sounds like she is very talented and now becomming a sailor too, a very accomplished woman. Also your other daughter a college grad, congrats to you mom.
Thanks, but their accomplishments are their own. I have to say that this Thanksgiving, I'll have some very long prayers to say. My 2 daughters have extremely different personalities, but it is looking like they are both going to wind up doing about the same thing in their careers, they are just going at it from completely different directions. And they both sing classical and opera. But my SR daughter is the only one going into the "family business". Both her father and father-in-law are retired Navy and her husband is active duty.

Did y'all see over on the 11/5 PIR site that a Dad in DIV 951 said that that division won't march in and only those in the flags, rifles, bank and choir go down on the floor. But they are right at the end of PIR and they do not have to go back to their ship to be released. He also said that if you go super early you might be able to see your Sailor and sit by them. I'm wondering if the procedure might be similar for our PIR.
That would be awsome if we can have that same honor and sit with them or even be close.
I know a singer that is in dvivsion 951. He is a wonderful young man that used to work with me, and my son was able to get to know him and talk about going into the Navy. I wrote to him a few times and he sent me a nice letter of encouragement for my son.
What a nice young man. Right now, I'm trying not to get too excited about the post by Betsy, ship 04 div, 020 on Holiday Leave after PIR Graduation. about an hour ago. She says the PAO told her the new sailors will be allowed leave time starting after PIR until start of A school. They will have to report to A school on 12/28 so will need to travel no later that 12/27. This leave will be deducted from their leave time. Some recruiting offices may allow them to work during that time to use less leave time. You should contact your recruiter to see if that is an option.

My daughter's recruiter is her husband.
