After PIR Pizza with SRs that have asked for Pizza on liberty.  Let's discuss times, interest, etc.  This discussion came about in the main room, because it seems as though several SRs have requested Chicago Deep Dish Pizza while on liberty.  I'm going so what the heck, more the merrier!  I'm super flexible on times because it will be just me and my SR.

 Update:  January 15, 2010

Giordano's seats approximatley 70 people and they do not take reservations.  Bummer...we had great group ready to go.  I am personally heading over there after PIR and after a stop at the NEX with my SR.  I'm prepared to wait to be seated and hopefully some of you will be there too!

My son has not said anything about Pizza on liberty.  Probably because he knows his parents think pizza is not pizza without a thin crisp crust!  We may live in PA but we grew up in Jersey!  NY/NJ pizza rocks.  I mean, eating pizza with a knife and fork?  And what's the deal with the sauce on top of the cheese?!?!  LOL  However, we'd be game for getting together.  Since PIR gets out in the AM I was thinking of brunch after, then diner at 5:30-6:00 before they have to be back to base.  We've only got the one day to spend with our son, he's an early Saturday departure.  We told him to invite someone who may not have family coming to PIR to spend the day with us to celebrate... so I'm sure they would all enjoy a chance to party together!!!  Time is flexible.
Are we talking Lunch after PIR, or later?  I am writing our SR today and will tell him.  However, we have to share him with his mom and I'm not sure yet what kind of arrangements she and Wayne are going to be able to make.  She's doesn't play well with others, especially us :) LOL
I'm good with any time we decide.  Dawn has suggested Brunch right after PIR.  I'm fine with that.  This sounds like it could be fun!  I'm going to let this discussion build until this Thursday or so.  If we end up with a bunch of us going, I'll call Giordano's and see what they can do for us.  I think I will talk to the manager and tell him about Navy for Moms and let him know what word of mouth advertising has done for his restaurant.  Maybe get a PIR special going, like the Ramada offers us?  Can't hurt to try, right?
I just showed my husband the website and he said it looks good. My son did mention pizza along with Culvers so we are more than likely in.
Pizza sounds good to me - been a long time since I had Chicago Pizza - If it works - then there will be at least 5 in our party.
4 for us if it works out and if the ex follows to hang with my sailor too then they are two
I'm sorry I should have said that there will be 4 of us.
Wow cool!  We are getting a lot of interest.  I'm going to push up the call to Giordano's and try to call tomorrow.  Just to see what works best for them as far as times with a large group. I'll keep you posted.
Knowing how much my SR looooves pizza, I'm saying, 'maybe' we will come, too. Gotta ask my Sailor man after PIR!
Looking like this may turn out to be one BIG cellebration!!!  We would be 3 or 4 adults (if SR brings friend) and a toddler.  Can you just imagine all those handsome young men (and women) in uniform!!!!

this sounds like fun but I want to ask my SR what he would like to do/have/eat.  My nephew said after his graduation from the AF basic, he went back to his parents room and slept all day... so I will say this sounds great and if we do attend it will be 3 of us, me and 2 teenagers (can I still consider my SR a teenager?)

I agree.  I want to let our SR do whatever he wants to do.  I know he loves Pizza, esp. thick crust/deep dish, but he might just want to hang out in the room.  Don't count us, but put us on the "I don't know yet" list, with a total of 3.  Great idea, though!  The place sounds good, too!
