Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 039 and 040

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

We will be going to the adopt a sailor day foe Thanksgiving and feel very fortunate to see out son then! I appreciate all the info on this site! Anyone have a SR going to nuke school?

My oldest son is in ship 6 so this is all new to me but my brother is a Navy vet so he been a BIG help so far, My SR called Sat afternoon is was so good to hear his voice he too said food was good but not Moms cooking...lol

My husband talk to him shortly last week BIG homesick as well as SR was not feeling well, so when I chatted with him Sat. he was a little better said days were flying by, he did tell me that he got adopt out for Thanksgiving that warms my heart!!!! My SR is a small town Texas boy so needless to say "this whole expiree is new for him"

We will not be able to make the Gday :(   but his uncle will be going so I know he will enjoy that.

I agree with another mom I read on hear nice to chat with other that know what your going throw

Missing my son tonite.

My daughter got a missed call from area code 309, which is Illinois.  We aren't sure if it was our SR or not, as there was no message left.  So watch for that area code as well as 847.

Hi. Yes, my SR is on Ship 06 Div 039 and going got nuke A school. This is our only experience with BC. Any ideas about the timing for when they will need to go to airport and then fly out? I've heard conflictng info ranging from Friday night to 1 am airport arrival / 6 am flight, to 3 pm flights. Trying to decide if we should plan to stay in Great Lakes til Sunday or leave Saturday morning. We are driving from Memphis and need to be back to work Monday. Any insight is much appreciated!

When I spoke to my SR he said the same thing about possible times to leave. We are just going to play it by ear and change our departure to see him before he leaves. Guess we won't find out until PIR.

Sailors leaving for A School will depart the RTC sometime between 12am-2am Saturday morning to head to the airports (a few exceptions may leave on Sunday). Flights out can start at 6am and go through early evening,

Your Sailor will have his orders sometime in the last couple weeks of BC right up to PIR, so ask him/her to give you a heads up in their next phone call as soon as orders are received

Hi tulip.my son is also ship 06 div039.im sure by now someone has answered your airport question.i tried the other day but my comp freezed lol
