Thanks for starting this division Mary. I have just gotten around to checking it out and it looks like I'm alone in here...is anyone else in029? Penny
Your not alone Penny my daughter is in div 029. How is your child doing?Boy or girl?
My son has sounded really good whenever I have heard from him. He has wanted the Navy for a very long time and actually has been waiting a year for boot camp, so he was very prepared. He has lived on his own, but he moved back in with us when he decided college was not for him a year ago. I didn't get a call this weekend, and I was sad about that, but other than that, I think things are going as good as they can for someone in boot camp. How is your daughter doing?
First letter wasn't so encouraging for her but second one was a little better. Yeah I didn't get a call either on Sat or Sun they are in the same ship and division.
On this site, we are not alone is what i am finding out. So good to read comments from Moms who sons and daughters are in the same Div as my son! USS Triton ship 12 Div 029!
So Glad I finally found this site! ......My son is also Ship 12 Division 029....I am so excited that we have only 3 more weeks until graduation. Last I talked to my son he was going to be able to come home for Christmas. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what to get him for Christmas. He will continue his A school there at Great Lakes as a Medic......not sure if he will be allowed to have a computer / cell phone ......does anyone know? I don't want to give him a gift that he'll have to leave at home when he goes back.
my son is also in ship12 div029 has anyone found out about their traveling options yet....do we have to buy their ticket for them i heard that they do i dont want there to be any problems later thanks
My son (ship 12 Div 029 Go USS Triton!) is hoping to come home for Christmas and said he has to pay his way home, but not from home to A school in Florida. Navy pays for that. Have you heard anything more?
My daughter told me that I purchase her ticket to come home for her leave at Christmas and the Navy will arange for her to fly to Florida for A and C school. I missed her call on friday. So I was not able to ask her again. We have our travel agent holding a ticket on my departue flight. Its been two weeks since I spoke with, because we missed her call on Friday. Hopefully nothings changed since last time we spoke. I hope she can call home for Thanksgiving Day.
Yay for Divison 029! Sounds like they are doing a great job! My son says that they just got a division flag for a great inspection on Monday! He says that they are close and work really well together! What a relief. He sound really good...a little tired because he has been standing watch. That sounds really tough! But there are parts in that he likes in that too! Just know it felt great to hear from him tonight! :)
ctownmom - has N been able to give you any info about liberty the day before or being home for Christmas?
When N called me on Friday, he said that I have to send him the intinerary because we are driving. I have printed off the directions and I am going to send him a copy and I am going to fax it to the number the ladies posted the other day. He is a grad and go so he said he will leave with us. He said that he is only taking 5 days leave because that is all he has, but then he said he doesn't need to be in Groton until Jan 4th...well the math doesn't add up, so I'm still confused. I think we are driving him to Groton, so I am including those directions also. He said that the Navy will reimburse him what it would have cost him to fly from Chicago to Groton.
That's what I know right now...which doesn't seem like much! haha!
