diannep-you got me even more excited to him!!
Dianne, my son was 2nd coming in and it was amazing. My son's division won Hall of Fame!
Got the call this afternoon. He's a Sailor! We are so proud. Flying out tomorrow morning leaving all this Rain behind but with no consolation right into the cold/windy/snowy adventure.
Congratulations to you all and your Sailors! Thank you all so much for being the constant in our lives from the very start. You all deserve a pat on the back! Great Lakes here we come!!! God bless and safe travels.
NDG: Betsy is so right on the seating...it is easy to find because your division honor guard will be standing in front of your section with division number displayed. They are very helpful in the PIR Hall for any questions you may have. For those of you in the first 2 divisions, you will be right in front of the big rollup door to see the first "reveal" of your sailors standing outside! GOOSEBUMPS! They march in with their trenchcoats on because of the cold...and another goosebump moment when they all remove "outerwear" to reveal their navy blues! Get ready!
Thanks Betsy and Dianne for the info. The shuttle it is!! I have a rather large bag all packed with the things that were on THE LIST, it is larger than a purse. Should I shuffle stuff into purse (tight fit that), or just take the large bag. It is a VERY (if I don't say so myself) Vera Bradley, so it is really purse looking, just duffle bag size.
And Betsy, OMG, you have saved my life!! I talked to IB, BUT was SO excited to talk to him, and SO emotional working out some GF problems, that I TOTALLY FORGOT to ask where he was sitting. I was just telling my mom, that oh darn, don't know where to sit. And now i do thanks to you!!!! :-)
Betsy, go look at the chat box now. :-)
Dianne, you are right, it did take my son about 40 minutes to get back to us. We just waited in the NEX for him. We did still have plenty of time to get the shuttle back since graduation ended at about 10:30a.m.
nicksmom: Yes, he should have BattleStations tonight. Sleep well because he won't be calling you until tomorrow (finishes BattleStations in the morning)...usually in the afternoon, but since it is the day before PIR, calls can actually come in the morning...so have the cell phone handy!
desiree: I believe your son will be going through BattleStations tonight...so your call should come tomorrow! Congrats ahead of time on your new sailor!
