This is SOO annoying. Hertz has bad customer service. I keep trying to rent a car to come home in and they keep passing me to other people and the people are either rude or can't speak a lick of english. I haven't had this much trouble with them before.
I'm with Betsy...and vote for the SHUTTLE, NDG. We were also at Residence and took the 6:30 shuttle...also in our seats by 7. No hassle, no lines...right in. No problem leaving on the shuttle either.
When your sailors go back to get their packs and pictures after PIR, it may take a while so plan a place to meet up with them. My son took forever to get back to us...seems he decided to start talking to alot of shipmates....
Nancy, we took the shuttle and it was just fine. We took it from the Residence Inn and the first one left at 6:15a.m. We were in the hall sitting down by 7:00a.m. In case you didn't know, the divisions enter the hall in numerical order. You will sit facing them, with the lowest numbered division to your left. The sections will be marked. We were back with our sailor in plenty of time to get the last shuttle back to the hotel at 12:30p.m. They will let them go directly after graduation. You will just have to wait for them to go back to get their packs
I too got a phone call, 15 minutes of a speaker phone conversation. He was excited and happy to know that we are already here!! Mary, I will message you my cell #, but I will see you at the M&G tomorrow, so it's not like we will miss each other.
The other group is discussing medical attention the kids are needing; where to go, how to pay for it is the major emphasis. Apparently IB still has blister issues and says his ankle is infected, so I want that looked at ASAP when he gets home. BUT where to take him?? What do you ladies think/know??
Can't WAIT until tomorrow night!!! it all begins then!! Pink scarves at the ready!!
Nancy
Betsy, better to shuttle or drive??
Cricket, you can enter the building from 2 different sides, but you will all be in the same building.
My son is also in division 801 and we haven't heard anything! They said it would be late tonight, I am also still waiting!
Hello to all of PIR 12/22/2010. I am a new member but have been following the site since my son went to boot camp. He spent 4 years NJROTC in high school and I was so happy he chose this branch. He is Ship 2 Div 906. I am anxiously awaiting that phone call saying he's a sailor. I arrived in Waukegan today and to let all know, it's snowing moderately here. So far, the roads have been fine. Hope to meet several people at the meet & greet. Very glad this site is so informative as it's helped a lot these last several weeks.
Just got off the phone with my husband. He was eating pizza and drinking Dr. Pepper. He sounded sooo good and was sooo excited! That was a great 40 min phone call! I am more excited now!
