Yes, Hlovebug. Welcome! You are in the right place! Your son is in the first division of this PIR group. Please ask questions...we are all here to help!

You all may want to follow the discussion group on the 12/17 site about the Christmas holiday leave (this will be in the discussion portion at the top of their page...not on the regular posts). Betsy and KLM on there are doing alot of research into that leave and how to make it happen. Although their new sailors will obviously come home before yours, I believe they all have to be back at the same time. So be sure to check that out.

And, Mary, you may want to start a similar discussion at the top of your page here so all to read through. I'm so glad that both of these groups will be able to have their sailors home for Christmas!

By the way, my son became sailor a week after Jessica's did...so I am on here as she is as a veteran mom to help in any way I can. Hi, everyone!

I did not realize how difficult it was going to be juggling time off and when to fly was going to be for a middle of the week graduation. We had used all our vacation (3 weeks) for weddings and funerals, Jen originally was not suppose to go to basic until Mar :( . But Alas I have faith that it will all work out :)

@Sara, I don't know, my husband is a worrier (He's the same one who freaked about a virus on Jessica's forms)...but before I spend money I want to know. The posting is about going from one POST to another, not traveling home. I think with military ID they are FINE to travel.
