Kim, I'm sure you are right. Talking to a longtime family friend, she is anxious to bring her family - our sons have grown up together - and meet us in Chicago for a few days for Christmas. So exciting! Now we just need the for-sure date. Alas, no letter today. I'm proud of my 14-year-old and 16-year-old daughters who are fine with giving up traditional Christmas to visit with their brother. And today I realized how proud of my son I am when my girlfriend said, "My sons just want to suckle on the teet as long as possible." Living in a really small town with a failed industrial economy, I became more proud of my son after hearing that.

He will be in Great Lakes, according to the recruiter and then go down to Groton. We originally thought that he was going straight to Groton, but apparently that was wrong.

Yeap and Jon will be in San Diego CA for A school.. where is Ian going to school?
Comment by Nancy on November 3, 2010 at 9:53pm
Yep, that's where I have been mailing my letters. Thank goodness, after reading the notes about sending the letters to the wrong place, I have been worrying about Ian getting my letters!! Thanks!!

Did you do anything fun for your birthday today??

Heres the correct address so you can be writing him:

SR ( last name), (first name) middle initals
Ship 03 DIV 026
Recruit Training Command
3600 Ohio Street
Great Lakes, IL 60088-3156

Jon is in the same div. as Ian, so I am thinking that they will not divide a division into parts. You know, they might combine two divisions, but I wouldn't think they would split one into parts. It's weird thinking that Jon and Ian know each other.
