The box comes first, usually within a week to 10 days of when they left. The form letter comes next. It takes a little longer and can take up to 2 weeks. When it does come make sure you keep it in a safe place. It will have the pass word for printing the gate pass for PIR and no one else is allowed to give it to you. It will have a few lines at the end from your recruit. :-)

Keep your heads up ladies. The worst is here.. we are without our sailors and having to cope to life without constant communication.. once we adjust like we are currently forced to do... it can only get better from here! The tears of sadness that fall will soon be filled with tears of happiness when we see our sailors again!

Hi Brittsmom. My son is ship 7, Div. 035 too. I sent you a friend request. There's one more of us on here. Can't remember who yet. It's been so crazy trying to keep up.

Hi, everyone. Not sure if I'm in the right PIR group. I got my box today. It was badly damaged. The tape wasn't keeping it closed:( There was nothing in it other than personal belongings. Soo, i broke down and called the recruiter. He told me ship 07 division 36. And he said there wasn't a graduation date up yet..
Does the letter come US mail??

Mary, that is so sweet that he wrote you so many notes. Awwww! Do you want to know about the pants, we know why, or do you want to ask him?
Comment by NC_Susan on November 2, 2010 at 5:19pm
Mary - From what we hear the pants are rolled up because they have to try on their boots but they are never given permission to unroll them, lol. I personally think it's the Navy's way of driving us crazy wondering if they walked through water :) I thought the same as you. What an awesome husband you have! He loves you very much :))) Susan

AWWW.. I have his jacket.. it smells just like him. I sat in the floor as I unloaded my box.. our dog is laying on his shirt.. I guess I won't wash that so he can lay on it. In every pocket of his bag there was a piece of paper saying " I love you baby" and in every pocket of his clothes.. it was sooooo sweet. I cried and was am sad but at the same time I am sooooo proud of him! What I thought was odd was his pants were rolled up like if he was walking thru a lake.. lol? I will have to ask him about that one.
