I AM taking a big leap of faith and saying I'm in this group cause I am only 2 divisions higher than what is grad. on the 17th.. so I have god faith that I will be there on the 22nd since my husbands 8th week mark is the 24th.

Thanks for inviting me to join your group. I will tell you a little about me: I have a daughter who is a sailor in c-school for AO. We drove 16 hours to PIR, went to the Meet & Greet at the Ramada, stayed at the Navy Lodge, and our sailor had her wisdom teeth pulled, was in the 900 div, was in the choir, was a stick, and was a grad and go on a chartered flight. My son-in-law is also a sailor going to A-school in Pensacola within the next week. His PIR was last Friday but he did not get to participate in the ceremony. His sister was killed in a car wreck and he came home to be with his family right after the capping ceremony. I tell you all these things because we have had a lot of different experiences in our journey so far. If you have any questions at all please feel free to send me a friend request and I will do my best to help you. You will also probably hear my name a lot, especially if you hang out in earlier PIR groups. I am the person who makes ribbons to wear to PIR and/or Meet and Greet. They are a great way to recognize other N4M members and to show your pride for your sailor. I will post some pics so if anyone is looking for samples of what the ribbons look like they can always go to the next to the last page in your group. They ribbons are an average of about 5 inches tall, have your SR's name and div # and if they are in band or choir they will also have a music note, if they have a sibling or spouse etc in the military I can add a flag to the ribbon. Each ribbon is hand made by me. If you have any questions at all please send me a friend request. Thanks, and Welcome to N4M's you will love this site and be so happy you found it.

Hi Mary-my son is in the same div as your husband. Did you get a letter saying the graduation is on the 22nd, or are you like me and kind of in limbo for the time being?

Hi all, wow I remember when I started my PIR group, the anticipation, the fear, the excitement. Jessica and Dianne are great you will come to love them. You might see a bit more of me in the future. I was asked to add some questionaires I wrote. Send them as soon as you get the address for your recruit. Have fun and don't be afraid to ask questions. Ask them over and over again. Remember the only dumb question is the one you don't ask.

We are headed to PIR on Friday and I am so excited I am beside myself. You will be so amazed at the changes you will discover in your recruits. It will noticeable when you get your form letter. I won't tell you what to look for. Our meet and greet is on Thursday evening and my hope and prayer for you is that you will be as close as we have become. I am proud to call each person in my PIR group part of my Navy family.
