Wow!  Nina-congrats and best wishes for a long, blessed marriage!

I've heard from several Moms about cameras and videos breaking during and after PIR 12/22/10, and now you guys are saying that the Professional DVD will not be available???

Thank you for all of the links. My son just landed in Chicago for A school. We were so sad to see him leave. I was able to take my younger kids to the gate to see him off! When you take your sailor to the airport ask them for a gate pass. You will have to show your ID and his or her ticket. Make sure you tell them they are in the Navy. :)

Priscilla, we have merged with the 12/17 group to form the alumni group. Here is the link: http://www.navyformoms.com/group/alumnipir121710

Discussions here are set up by schools so that you can get exactly the info you need and I there is one discussion on what they can take to A school. Hope this helps.

Nina-best wishes!! for a long, happy relationship!! I am thrilled for you, you are embarking on many new paths at once.

Rose- thanks for your quick response. We DO have the number, just wanted to know if/when to call. If, for some reason it doesn't work, I will be knocking at you door asking you for YOUR number LOL. So happy to hear that your son has arrived and he was shown around the base. Have you checked out the alumni PIR group that I just told Priscilla about? Some of the ladies have sons who have already arrived and they are sharing their info with us. Very helpful.

You ladies have a wonderful day!!

NDG Groton SECF......Yes, he call 2 days before he left and they call him the day before to confirm that they have the right information.  Before they left boot camp he have a paper with all the information.  If you need it let me know, I can call my son and get it.  When he get to the airport he call again and they were in the way to pick him up.  He call me last night and said the guy that pick him up was very nice and once they get to the base he take his time and show him the base.  I know like me you are worry about pick up and it was a BIG release for me knowing that they will pick him up at the airport.  With all the stories about kids taking trains, taxi or.....this make the difference on how I feel when he left, crying but in this matter ok.

Nina  so happy for you & your Sailor.  My son leaves Jan. 3rd for San Diego. This stinks about the dvd, my camera decided to screw up the minute graduation started. Nina here's to long, happy & full of adventure marriage.

lisa: my hubby (div 32) is checking into A school on the 4th for FC. :)

do we have an alumni group yet?

Comment by Nancy on December 29, 2010 at 5:40pm
I wasn't clear in the last post, the kids have already arrived at their A schools as their leaves are over since they graduated ahead of our kids. Since moms can call, then we can get questions answered.
Comment by Nancy on December 29, 2010 at 5:39pm

Lisa go to the alumni site, we have set up discussions for each school and the 12/17 guys are already there. Their moms can answer most of our questions.
