Maggie, don't worry about the confirmation now that your son has received it. He is fine now. No, you are not losing it, we have come to far now. We have made it through hell and we are back on track now............... we are beginning to see the light at the end of that long tunnel our kids have made it through and now we have clear sailing. Hang in there, we are all with you.      1 more BC to go: If I understood correctly from the Navy Face Book page, the Captains Cup is not awarded at every graduation....Hopefully it will be for our 12/22 graduation.

Comment by Valerie (Brittany's Mom) on December 10, 2010 at 5:54pm

Has anyone heard anything about the "Captains Cup"? They usually do that on the Saturday before PIR and don't have a Battle Stations the night before. I was just wondering if it had been cancelled, because LIS said BS for div 027 is the 17th.

I still haven't received amy type of confirmation from scheduling office for the Itinerary and map/driving directions.  However, my son  did call and let me know that the both had been received per fax.  I just had to resend the plane itinerary since it was hard to read.

Just makes me nervous.  Should be OK.  I e-mailed and faxed both.  I think I'm starting to lose it.

Comment by Sean'sMom (ship12 Div 029) on December 9, 2010 at 9:24pm

Thank you Sacred's Mom.  I emailed and faxed his flight itinerary even though he made it there and got a confirmation the next day.  Asked about the hotel, no answer on that, so i'm praying that that won't be an issue if i don't fax that. Are you flying out very early?

Comment by priscilla; FC wife on December 9, 2010 at 9:22pm

Got three letters in the mail today! Some quotes from his letters since I'm terrible at explaining things, ha.
24 Nov:
"Things here are flying by. It's already 3-2 day which means we're past the halfway mark. We have 27 days left!!!"
"Boot camp is a piece of cake because I'm doing it for you. I had to walk through 30+mph winds and sideways puring rain for 45 minutes yesterday and it sucked."
"I'm very excited to become a sailor! I'll be an E-2 on graudation day, E-3 after 6 months, and E-4 after A-school and petty officer indoctrination. :)"
30 Nov:
"Our division is starting to come together and really do a great job. Today we had Marlinspike and it was intense. I was chosen to be the midship PYC. We were on this cool ship that was inside a building. It was completely legit inside and out!"
"It took us 22 minutes and we were allowed 25 so we passed. My job was to wait for the call to come from the bridge and give the orders to the line handling captains. The whole thing really showed me how important teamwork is."
"Tomorrow is the PFA, so lots of running. We wake up at 0430 and we also have our personnel inspection and weapons turnover inspection."
"I can't wait to finish here and be able to call myself a United States Sailor. :)"
5 Dec:
"Today is 14 days away from Battlestations! I'm so ready to go home. :)"
"Tomorrow we take our photos as a division in our dress uniforms. The whole thing lasts like 3-4 hours. :( I'm going to be bored. haha."
"I got a medal and ribbon for being an "expert" at the pistol! Everyone calls me 'expert' now."
