My son received a ribbon for marksmanship but was rushed off the phone and did not tell me what it was for only "Mommy, I received a ribbon for marksmanship". I assumed that it meant his eyesight was awesome and I knew he had 20/15 so I told him that was wonderful, but all I really want is to see him 12/22. Hopefully, he will explain the ribbon for marksmanship to me on 12/22.

BTW, I was on the Navy Facebook page and a recruit told her mom on the phone that the gas chamber is down during the winter months. I dont know if that is true or not, but I just wanted to share it what I read and it was posted by: Suzi Selig and it was posted 1 hr ago to U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command web page.

Sean'smom, I dont think that is needed. I received confirmation finally for the flight and was never asked about hotel and we are indeed staying the night of graduation in GL and flying back home with our Sailor on the 23rd.

Does anyone know if i need to mail my hotel reservation and car rental to scheduling?  My son made his own flight arrangements at BC to fly out the morning after PIR 12/22/10

My son called the other day to tell me about Battle stations, but he had to hang up before I could clarify when this event takes place...is it this week or next? And sorry for my ignorance, but what is the "gas chamber"?!

Hi, Lynne,
I am formerly known as "Daisy's Mom". I kept waiting for you or DianneP to give some of your awesome advice, but figured I'd better tell Cricket what I know.
I have been back to our alumni site, reading what everybody else has to say...but my daughter is IS and she has put a "gag" order on me! She will be home for Christmas soon and her BF in the 12/22 PIR will be too. Hopefully, between the two of them, I will get some good BootCamp stories.

Okay y'all 1 more BC is now having a very good laugh because she changed her name gall darn it and she knows this confuses me...lol!! I know exactly who her daughter is I just can't remember her former screen name...dang it anyway...lol

You see she was in my PIR group...that is why she gave such good advice...she is a smart cookie..lol!! However, I have missed her because she has been too busy to come back to our alumni group and chat...sniff,sniff...do you see those tears dripping down my face....she probably thought she could sneak in her and I wouldn't notice....ruh roh...lol!!!

I have not been posting much but still reading all comments as much as possible. Thanks everyone for sharing all the information posted. It's so great to see all the support. Looking forward to PIR on the 22nd. Wishing you and your recruits all the best.

OK To make sure I am at the M&G I changed my hotel to Ramada. They guy I booked with was rude.. he was a central office so no one that actually works at the hotel and then I called front desk and the lady was REALLY sweet so that was nice. I found out more about the M&G. They already have name tags so we don't have to worry about those. They have a mic that people can pass around and talk into. You get 2 drink cards if you stay at the hotel ( 2 free drinks) and the resturant there is SaddleRidge.. Heres a link:

Just in case anyone wanted it.
