Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I would call the public affairs office, 847-688-2405. They may be able to help you. On the first form that I received there was a list of four people who were allowed to attend. I believe it is only four. Call them and see what they say. His wife sounds not so nice! Good luck with everything!

A while back there was discussion about wearing pink scarves to PIR. Are we still doing that?

My son is in bootcamp and graduates Dec 22, and were suppose to be on the list but his wife won't tell us, and I have written him but no response yet. He said we were on the list, but we need to get the tickets and the gate passes. Thanks

I wanted to make sure you got them in plenty of time. I still have a few that I have not received payment for, maybe tomorrow. It is not to late to order, but if you want them, the PIR date is getting very close so hurry and send me a message. :) And try to stay warm, all this talk of snow makes me very VERY happy that my daughter had PIR in July!!!
