Question: if our SR purchased his ticket while at bootcamp, do we still have to email a copy of the itinerary?
Comment by Kim of Virginia on December 5, 2010 at 9:14pm
ctownnavymom, I emailed his itinerary Friday, 12,2 but I did not receive a confirmation and it probably because it is the weekend. I was so taken aback when the call came in because it came in US Govt, that I forgot to tell my son that I emailed it to his email account as well. Hopefully tomorrow, they will either check their email or get the fax that my husband is faxing tomorrow. Thanks a million everyone. Tomorrow will be a better day

Thanks everyone for your well wishes and prayer. I had to go off line for awhile to have a little melt down. My son also said that he did not get a letter from me Friday, and I know I write him every single day even when I left him at MEPS. I wrote every day, numbered them and stacked the letters up until I got his address. Once I got the address, I put all 10 in the mail and from that day forward I write every single day. I even write on Sundays and place it in the early mail delivery Monday as soon as I get in the building where I work. I go upstairs to my office and at 6:35am I start writing his Monday letter and mail it at 4:30pm when I leave out the building to go home. He also said he only received one letter from my daughter in law, she assured me that she is writing him every day as well. I don't understand what's happening and I feel like I have no control and that is not a good feeling. My mind is wondering!!!!!!!!!!!

My son called about his plans today. I emailed them before Thanksgiving and got a confirmation email Friday I read it to him because he didn't believe me. He sounded down but said he could not talk and would call me Tuesday. Should I fax it up there just to make sure they got his info?

Moms......I hope this help a little. My experience is this.....I send everything, itinerary coming home and home to Groton on November 21. That day was Sunday I send hard copies to my son as well. Yesterday when he call me he told me that they ask him about his plans because they didn't have anything for him. Thanks God that I send him copies because he was able to show them the information. Yesterday when he call me at the same time the RDC was near and told him "got it" and told my SR that she can see that I send it the 21st but it look like it take a little longer.

About sounding down I think is normal, is the final they are worry (like my son) that the division get together to do BS. All we can do now is just pray that the divisions get together and work as a Team and also write letters with encourages words, because I think we will not receive any more calsl until they finish with BS. I'm been writing and counting with my son. I bet when he receive the letters from last week he will laugh. My favorite son cake is the pineapple upside down cake. So I paste (ex. like today getting ready for tomorrow letter 16 cakes) and everyday I take one away. I even mention to him that I eat everyday a cake...I know it sound silly but is something that I enjoy doing with my son. At the end all I can say is I'm looking forward to see him the 22nd. Thanks God for taking care of my Jo and all this young mens trying to do their best to have a better future and to protect all of us in this country. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH JO AND I'M SO PROUD OF YOU!!!

Hi ladies. Terry and Sacred's mom...did you email the itinerary? I did and I got a confirmation email from RTC. Did you get one of those? I also sent hard copy to N, but he didn't say if he got it when I spoke to him yesterday.
My heart hurts for you both...I have been blessed, N has been very upbeat everytime I talked to him...I would be so crushed if he sounded depressed and there was nothing I could do! Hang in there ladies...we will be strong for our recruits and we WILL get through this! You have a special place in my prayers tonight!

sacred'smom-I'm glad it wasnt just me.Not wishing anyone to go through that but it hurts my heart to know I cant do anything for him.My son made all his arrangements from BC.I didnt have to do anything as far as emailin or calling anyone.Maybe they sounded so bad cuz they were calling from the office instead of the payphone.I really couldnt hear him too well so I hope he didnt need me to do anything cuz the reception was horrible.
