Hi Mary
So sorry to hear about your father-in-law. We will keep you all in our prayers. I just read on the RTC site in the "Family's Guide To Recruit Training " that if there is a family energency you should call American Red Cross @877-272-7337. They will be able to help get a message to J.

Mary, in my opinion, I would call the base and ask for them to deliver the message and let your husband decide, I would rather my husband or son be mad at me or having to do extra pt, then I would something happen to his father and he not get to say goodbye if something like that happens. I am sure the Navy has a plan in place if something like that happens. I don't know who to call, but that is my opinion. I will also keep your family in my prayers.

His father is in ICU

So is his father in the hospital right now? Or is he home?

Tough to know what to do as there is so little time left now and to pull him out of the division might be really hard on him, but then he probably wants to know about his dad... really difficult place for you to be in. :-( Keep me informed plz and I will pray for you all.

Nancy since we found out his schooling was more than 9 weeks. I knew he was planning on coming home more than 10 days. Yes, we did know that something could of happened to his father while he was in BC and we talked about it. The plan was I going alone or having J fly home and I get him from the airport. The next days will unfold and I will know more of what to tell J as far as plans on that matter. Only time right now.. only time.. I will find more out tomorrow when I go and see the Dr. and see how he is doing and what all the test from today come back and say...

Megan,the deadline is Dec. 10th.

Mary, how very terrible for you and J. Did you guys discuss what to do if something like this happened? Was J planning on coming home? I think you said he was, but for less than the full 10 days. My thoughts and prayers are with you, and if there is anything I am able to do for you, let me know.

I might not make it to the graduation... J's father ( whom I was going to road trip it with ) fell today. He has a rare muscle disease that has been slowly deteriating him and to day he fell. He broke his R femur and L2 Lumbar Disc ( 2 disc ) (compression with fracture). The Dr. also has found pneumonia in his lung that was recovering from collapsing. They want to do surgery on him but can't til the pneumonia clears up. He will have rods in his leg and they are having to be EXTRA careful while moving him so that ne broken pieces of his fracture goes into his spinal cord. I don't know how to write this to my husband.. I know it will eat him up when he reads the letter as to what's going on, but he has to know. I don't know if I need to make an itenerary now to fly my husband home or what... I am so lost right now.. I don't know if I need to call and ask.. and then theres the question of who do I call? Or if I just should write him and tell him... IDK! =(

Does anyone know what the deadline is for submitting itinerary. I didn't know we had to make arrangements to A School aswell, so we are currently making those, but I submitted the arrangements for home from graduation. I am afraid that if I miss the date they won't let him come home = (. Please help me out and let me know if you know the deadline. Thanks, Megan. = )
