Good Afternoon everyone. I hope you are all having a great day. I am missing my sailor so much today. It is her 21st birthday. I was able to call a local bakery in VA and order her a birthday cake :-) Wish I could share it with her. I have been working on the PIR ribbons for all of you who have ordered them. They will be mailed early next week. If you have not sent your order or your payment please do so soon. Thanks

I received a letter from my son yesterday telling me to e-mail his itinerary/E-ticket to the e-mail I had already sent it to. He said it had to be in by Dec. 10th. I guess I'll send a copy in the mail to him as well. I have only received three phone calls since he has been gone.

I found the best website today. I was browsing for some Christmas gifts and came across CafePress.com. I was able to order a Christmas ornament with logo and name of the submarine that my daughter's bf is on and a couple of Navy cute t-shirts for my grandchildren, that say "My Uncle is in the Navy" for A to give them for Christmas.

I have no association with the website, but just wanted to share it.

LOL.. J wrote in his letter

" On my dog tag they list the my blood type. A positive. However it is abbreviated. So on my dog tags issued by the Navy: It says " A POS" I'm a piece of shit=) Thats what the Navy thinks of me. It's one of the few laughs I've had here"

Don't worry, walker. Just do as I told proudmom...cover all bases....mail the itinerary and tell your recruit in a phone call when you get one.
Comment by walker12003 ship03 div028 on December 1, 2010 at 12:31pm
On no I emailed them last night to that office because I had sent an email and was told yes to email my itineray there.
Comment by diannep on December 1, 2010 at 12:29pm
proudmom: Did you mail the itinerary in a letter to your recruit? And when he calls, you can give it to him. I know it is frustrating but they really like for the recruits to take responsibility in finding out the info....geez, I know that's hard with little contact....but you have some time here.
