My husband (div 32) said on Dec 1st, he'll purchase his round-trip ticket there while at GL and will send me the info so I know when to pick him up from the airport, etc.

has any of your SR's said anything about getting a round-trip ticket from GL to home then back to GL, and then going to A-school? I sure hope they are getting guidance from someone who knows what to do!

Mary thanks fo your encouraging words!! Right,we will be thinking why were we so upset when they started and now we are so very excited just waiting for the day to come so we can give them that BIG hug we have been storing up inside us for two onths. They prolly will be surprised when they feel that squeeze!!!

These last few weeks will go quicker for you all then the first ones did....it won't be long now! They are also getting to the part of bc where they finally have PIR in their sights (well, actually, they become sailors after BattleStations so that is what they are focused on!). It is still challenging but they have much more confidence now...start asking your recruits about BattleStations dates for their divisions and post so Mary can get a schedule on this page.

Mary...thank you for your post...your are right we will all look back and think time has flown by. I read posts from other parents/husbands/wives who's SR may have just left and they are wondering when the box will come or the "official form letter" and my heart breaks knowing the agony they are feeling just waiting looking back now it seemed like I would never get through that time....here we all are at the half way point....bravo zulo to all :o)

Mary....Amen for that. Yes time is flying.

I just came home and found a letter from my son. For all of us that start from the beginning I always said that if my son wrote me a letter (he is not a writer) it will be a miracle and yes, I'm so happy that he find the time to let us know how is he doing and I glad for that. I let him in the letter that I just send this morning that I appreciate that. Now...In the letter he said that when he go back to Groton he can take his cell and laptop. Please remember like I always said just don't assume this is for everybody. I look a little different for everybody, he told me he find some information about A school and he can bring his cell and laptop. When he come home he want to go shopping for his own cell, he still under my plan but he want to get his and I respect him. The best thing is wait for your recruit to let you know what's going on. Well after tonight 25 five more days until we see our love ones.

I wanted to spread some encouraging words.. I know that not only am I missing J, but now I am feeling excitement, anxious, curious to get to graduation. I have more emotion about it all and I need encouraging words that my mother was able to give me and I wanted to give you all. Keep your heads up and your spirits high.

Yay! 3 1/2 weeks to go! Man it seems like just yesterday we were starting this journey together and now we are more than half way done. I know we all still have things to figure out and many questions and it is going to seem like a headache getting through the next few weeks. And then we all take the trip to see what wonderful sailors our sons/daughters/wives/husbands have turn into. All the tears we have cried will not amount to the emotion we will feel when we see than again. All the pain, headache, heartache will just fly out the door when you have them in your arms... thats something to look forward to. This week was our half way point. Looking back ... it seems like time flew. We have 24 more days to go.. at the end of that journey.. we will look back and think to ourselves.. " Man, time flew!" Just a little encouraging words!

Hlovebug......everything depend. First, are you going to the graduation? Do you buy already his ticket and send the itinerarie to the navy? In my case my son is coming back with us same fly so after PIR he is going back to his rack pick hi thing and go with us to hotel. He don't need to return back and next day we all drive to the airport and back home. To go back I bought his ticket and we are trying to figure out how he is going to get to the base, but is train station and bus. He is going to Groton, CT but do a research to see what it's best and if you go to the graduation you can always make arrangements in person.

Hope this help a little bit! Good luck!
