I NEED YOUR HELP, My plane arrives on Christmas day at 12 noon. I just found out, that I had to pick up my son between 8 AM and 9 AM. Can someone adopt him for me until I get in.
Tags:
Hopper, I wrote my son asking if there was anyone inparticular that he wanted us to adopt along with him...not sure when he got the letter and when he would have been able to write back, but if I dont hear anything by Monday or Tuesday I will go ahead and send in the form and add your SR name to it. Let's keep in touch about it, but I'd be more than happy to help if I can!!! To be sure, is he in division 907? I think we can only invite those in the same division...
Also, do you have your hotel plans, etc yet?
OMG, thank you so much For just responding.
I just sent a letter to my son this morning Letting him know about the situation. I told him that even though I will be in town I may not be able to see him. I also asked him if he could help out on he’s end, but I don't think it’s going to get to him in time for him to receive and respond.
He is on ship 03 in division 040 P.R.I. date is 12/28/2012
So I'm guessing you'll be able to adopt him. I’m staying at the Marriott Courtyard Chicago Waukegan/Gurnee hotel on 3800 Northpoint Blvd · Waukegan, Illinois 60085 it’s about 5mi, from the Recruit Training Command Center.
if you can adopt him, how will we be able to keep In Touch? If not I really really really appreciate you reaching out to me.
Hopper
Thanks, I really appreciated.
Hi Tyellsmon,
I don't mean to bother you but, after speaking with you, I posed the question on moms for navy
Q: Does training group mean the same as division when it comes to adopting a sailor?
So far I received one answer.
A: Comment by diannep
HOPPER: Training Group is the number of the group. Look at the top of this page...it is listed as TG 7 after the PIR date.
If he is correct and your loved one is indeed in
PIR 12/28/2012 TG 7 - 8 Divisions (039 - 044, 906 & 907)
I think you may be able to adopt my son. They have to be in the same training group not the same division. Let me know what you think when you get a chance. Thanks so much
I just had to give it one more Navy try!
The answer to your question is no, TG is not the same thing as Division when it comes to adopting a recruit.
Your SR can only invite another recruit from their same division, not from the Training Group.
If a recruit puts another recruit on his form to bring along with them they must stay together for the day.
Have you already faxed back your Adopt-A-Sailor form?
No not yet.
