there is PAM that has started a discussion for diviison 18...scroll down here in the discussion forum to see her post
I got my box first, one day last week. Then at long last, I got the letter. Now we have a tentative PIR date. Woo hoo!
Hello, my son is also ship 03, div 018. I am so looking forward to PIR. I can't believe it only been a little over a week. Seems like forever I have seen him. Miss him so much. I did get his box and form letter, and his small note at the bottom. But no phone call as of yet. He seems to be in good spirits. I have letters and cards for encouragement on the way!. I am so thankful for this site, to ask the many, many questions we have.
I have begun sending a letter a day to keep my son's spirits up. We miss his presence at home but could not be prouder of him. My son wrote that he might be able to call in a week and a half. We are hopeful. Looking forward to PIR.
My son is Ship 03 Div 018. I miss him so much and can not wait until PIR and I can see again.
Me too! Only a letter, no box-although I live in Maui so maybe its making its weigh on a freighter lol!! We do have airplanes nowadays though! I hope I get it soon, it will remind me of her and anything at this point helps, even if it is dirty laundry! I was so excited to ger her letter with the address I spent a ton of time on the computer sending it to everyone I know !!
Hello to all of you who have a kid in Ship 03 Div 018. I try to send my son a letter or atleast a card everyday. I spent 5 years in the Army myself and I know how important mail is. I know I most likely will not get very many letters from him, I know how he is about writing and he will be very busy at boot camp. What free time our kids may have they may not feel like writing much. So do not let it get you down if you do not hear from your kid as much as you would like. Just remenber they are very busy and very tired. We can talk to each other and get through this together.
Thanks Pam, this site has been so helpful to me-info, support, giving me an idea of what to expect, thank you everyone for being there for each other!
I can' wait until I get my first real letter. I emailed, called, texted everyone I could think of to write my daughter- it is scary to hear that recruits are already dropping out per the bootcamp moms group!
Has anyone heard from our kids yet? How is their division doing? I am wondering if they are getting any privileges, like a call home!
I have sent my son a bunch of cards and letters but, still have not heard anything from him. Has anyone gotten a letter from thier kid?
No letters yet on this end..... waiting stinks! HaHa I don't know what I would do without this site, and all the information. It has really put mind at ease with all the questions I have had. We had our annual Halloween party last weekend, it was really strange not having my son there. But I did get a card and passed it around for everyone to sign for him, beacause I know he is missing all of us as well. Plenty of letters and cards for encouragement is key for me. And in those I feel it's important that he knows that we not only praise him for what he is doing, but remind him that we are proud of all those kids there. They are a part of something important, a team. They are building friendships. Which is exactly what N4M is too. I feel so comforted knowing I'm not alone with these crazy feelings and emotions. Thanks and prayers~Delia
I heard that we should be expecting a phone call in the 3rd week, which I think this is- I have been keeping my phone with me everywhere! I am sad about Halloween too, my daughter was supposed to leave later, but she got a call and was told she was leaving in one week! she had her Halloween outfit already bought, she was going to be a ladybug, but not anymore! I keep seeing her spotted tights on her bed and it makes me so sad that she can't wear it! I wouold have loved to see her in it! No letters still, and then I sent her an envelope with stamps and a SASE that she was supposed to return some questionaires in. The SASE came back to me empty the next day, l guess the envelope I had everything opened or something. So I don't even know if she got anything- and the postal clerk was like, can't you just call and see if she got it? I almost broke down, so glad I have everyone here to lay it all out on!!
