On Sat we got the "form" letter w/the address and instructions from the navy. It had a few lines written. then yesterday we got his box and a phone call. This call was the first and only one we received.
Ok where are you? I'm going to tell if you don't ;-`). We received real letters today!!!!
Hey Guys, My son Michael is in Ship 09, Div 010 as well!!! He shipped on 10/4. We received his box and form letter on the same day...both via USPS...it was Saturday 10/9. I had his address on 10/6...I just went and visited his recruiter in person. We are waiting for his phone call, and a letter from him...I hear that the first "real" letter(not the form letter where they get 2 lines) will be about 3 weeks after they get there...I guess we'll see...
My son.Lucas, is in this division. I got his form letter yesterday. My other son was in boot camp last year and it was about 2 1/2 weeks before we got his first real letter. Where are you all from? Lucas lives in Louisiana but was born in New Jersey. When I wrote Jared, I described the people I've met here and it's pretty cool when he told me he knew them. They go by last names so if we exchange that info it should be by private message. Nice to meet you all. Hope to see you at PIR!
Marion, we are from TN...well, Michael was born in GA, and we lived there till he was 21/2, then moved to TN...he went to an Unit school here...k-12 with about 350 kids in it! Very small, so I can't wait to hear what he has to say about all the people there! 35 graduated this year in his class.....He's traveled extensively and been away from me when he visits his dad....so hopefully, he's adjusting fine!!!
Sherri, we're from TN also. We live in Chattanooga. Did you son leave from Knoxville on the 6th? My son, Brandon, said he met another recruit who was also a nuke, maybe it was your son.
Hey Nukemom,
We (he) left from Nashville on OCt 4...there were 4 others that day with him....we went and hung out with them...hopefully, they've met now though....What is Brandon's last name? I'm asking MIchael if he knows all they guys that I know the moms..... We live south of Nashville about and hour and a half....outside of Columbia...Maury county, in a smal town named Hampshire..if it's ok, I'm goin to friend you, if I haven't already since your sone is a nuke, sounds like they'll be together for a while.
Me too! I cant wait to get a real letter from my husband!! Looks like we have a few nukes in here as well. I am so excited for our boys!
Do we have anymore ship 9 div 10???
My son is in this division. He shipped out of Houston on the 4th. We actually heard from him this week. I knew it wasn't a good thing he was calling. Sure enough he was in the hospital after passing out! It was a very scary 24 hours but all is well now and he is back at boot camp with his job being safe. He said the flu is going around.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone!
That would be scary. glad things are ok. I passed out at parade and one of the girls caught me so I didn't go down...so the big bad people didn't take me to the hops. was he dehydration or did he lock his knees?
they are not sure. They were concerned about his heart but thankfully it checked out ok. He did hit his head pretty hard when he passed out. :(
