Have not got my DVD yet.  I am going to Great Lakes this weeken to see my son.  His girlfriend and I are going up and spending the weekend.  We leave Friday at noon and can't wait to see him again.  He's phase 2 now so he can stay with us at the hotel.  It will be so nice not to have to take him back at night.

Drove my son back to Great Lakes on Sunday the 2nd.  I was able to drive on post to his baracks, it seems alot more relaxed on that side of the post.  I feel so lucky living so close but, I know I don't have long before I will not be able to see him so often.  His girl friend and I are going up for the weekend of the 15th to see him.  We hope he will have over night liberty.

Sent my son back to GL on the 1st. He wasn't even sure when his A school was starting, but I hope soon, he gets bored easily.  On the drive home from the airport it hit me that it could be a pretty long time before he is home again....sigh.  It seemed a little (very little) easier than when he left for BC.  Cell phones and computers are a Godsend!  Hope everyone has a very wonderful and prosperous 2011.

Happy New Year everyone!!  So happy for the ones that were able to spend the holidays with their sailors and excited for the ones that will be home with family soon!!  Sent my sailor back to Pensacola today....what a tough thing to do!!!  I am so greatful to have communication though.

Abbesmom- My thoughts are with you...wow you have had a lot of goodbye at once!!!

It has been a wonderful Christmas and New Year, but reality is starting to set in......not sure if I am ready for the tears again.  I start tomorrow morning at 4:00 am by taking Abbe to Charlotte airport to return to GL, then from there to Winston-Salem to return her twin brother and older sister back to college and Monday to Columbia airport to return my 3 grandchildren back to Houston to their parents.  So proud to see all of them thriving in their lives..........but boy isn't it hard to watch them growup and leave.................

Laundry and packing day for my sailor, who leaves from SFO tomorrow morning to return to GC. We will miss him so. Lots of memories made on this visit, to last us for who knows how long. Happy New Year everyone! Prayers for blessings on all of us and our sailors in the coming year.

Our son Aaron has been home since December 17th.  We are having a wonderful time with him. Having him home for Christmas was the best gift ever! He leaves on New Year's Day to return to Nuke school in Charleston. It will be difficult but at least we'll now have easy communication with e-mail and cell phones.

I was thrilled to find this web site.  It was such a comfort during those last few weeks of boot camp. Congratulations and good luck to all from PIR 12/3.
