Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by Sherri_M on November 13, 2010 at 8:00pm: julsburd...he's in my sons division....yay! my hubby was in navy for 10+ years...did recruiting his last 3 or so years...we wern't married then though...but I've learned alot from him! he's doing civilian work...not what he trained for in the Navy--he was going to go nuke, they tried to get him nuke b/c of his ASVAB....but he was color blind..he didn't know till he had his physical...well that is an automatic NO NUKE...I couldn't imagine why....but he went Cryogenics and loved it...has a degree inChemical engineering...

I live in SW Iowa, but was visiting in the Northern part a few days closer to IL and it is freezing. Plan on a cold wind. You can watch some videos of past PIR on youtube. Gives you an idea as to what to expect. Looks like a awesome ceremony. I can't believe we are less than 20 DAYS!!!
