Julsburd: Yes, don't miss the MeetNGreet because it is great fun to meet the ladies on this site after talking with them for so long here. The M&G is from 6-8, and some of you may want to go to dinner as a group afterwards (the appetizers at the M&G are lite, from what others have told me).

I am doing a lot of new reading... just joined last night. Anyway do we have a meet and greet scheduled anywhere yet? We are planning to stay downtown Chicago and maybe we want to move out to the north suburbs if we have something on Thursday night.

You must be a pro with all this if your husband did the same thing. Is he still with the navy or did he go into civilian work?

Hi Sherri. He is in Division 010.

julsburd....great to have you! My son is nuke and going as MM...which is what he hoped for...my hubby was MM so he wanted to be same thing. Glad someone gets to go see your son....i get to stay home too, as I have to work Friday...boo! But his grandparents are going to see him and as you said...we get to see him the following week! What division is he in?

Hi All. My son is in your division and he was the one who told me about this site so they definitely do talk about us! We were just scrambling to see if one of us could get up to Great Lakes to spring him for Thanksgiving... they didn't give us a lot of notice on that one. Turns out my husband will go and I will stay back to have our other son and his wife visit. Good thing I am going to see him the next week at graduation! So far this has been a great experience for him and for us. He is feeling real successful and ready to move on! He is in the nuc program and will go in as a ET. He is thrilled about that!

thanks for info guys! online quotes letting us keep him, we'll call on monday to double check...since he's 18, we may have a little leeway...

Sherri our son is 21 and when we suspended him from our auto insurance policy we were told that because of his age we had to actually cancel him from our policy. After he arrives in South Carolina (Nuke school) and is able to drive, we he will have to start his own auto policy.
