Finally got a letter! Actually about 6 letters in one envelope! Amazing how much better I felt after reading the letters - just seemed to make everything okay. Then yesterday I got a phone call!! OMG - I was excited to hear his voice!

He sounded great - loves the food and eats ALOT. Had 4 wisdom teeth out which are now infected but is on antibiotics and getting better. He's on the top bunk and cut his foot when he jumped out of bed and landed on the drawer that his bunkmate had left open - ouch. He's made E-2 and is in charge of the weapons - which he loves cuz he loves to play with guns! Still homesick . . .
Didn't know about G&G - I really hope not.

Gave his little brother a challenge to conquer a certain level on Halo XBox before he gets out---which is only 3o something days!!!!!!! yeah!!!!!!

He is ship 09, div 016. How do I add that to my name on here?

love the picture Dianne! My son is excited to get his NWU's they do look great! I love them and can't wait to see my son in them! They'll all look so handsome,, or the girls will look cute! and yes, less than 5 weeks and just think Nuke mom....in just a few days less than 30 days...that's when it'll start really flying by and all sorts of things will start to happen!!! yay for all of us, we're almost there!!!

BTW, nukemom...have you found out what a school your son is going to?? is going to be a MM or EE or ET--do yoou know yet? Michael hasn't said which one he's going to yet, I don't know if they know yet..should be learning that soon if they don't already know.

My son verified by phone today that he is eleigible for Thanksgiving liberty w/immediate paper. He received the papers today & will be mailing them to me to complete so we can "adopt" him from the Navy:)

great to hear these things EMily!! Michael did say they were getting the 2nd fitting for their uniforms...he was so excited to be gettning the dress uniforms, he said they'd be getting the service uniforms as well..

Glad you are there for him and are so encouraging to him! He needs that, and from what everyone who's been here before us, by next week they'll have th confidence start building up, plus its less time to graduate than what they've been there...if that makes sense to you--5 weeks down, 3 to go! They can do this!!!!

Just off the phone w/my son...WooHoo!! The call lasted 35 mins. His knee is much better. He's back to regular duty. He sounded great!
