Has anyone from ship 9 div 10 NOT received a call? I'm starting to wonder if there was something wrong with his calling card.

Amy'sMom: Yes, I would think that is possible. More as a disciplinary tool probably if they aren't working together. But let's hope that they receive it soon because...yes...it is so important to them.

I emailed the RTC about Thanksgiving & this is the response that I received:

U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command wrote:
"Not every recruit will be eligible for Adopt a Sailor. It depends on how far along they are in their training. Those recruits who are eligible will be have the opportunity to send home paperwork to fill out. For those who are eligible whose family cannot make it to Great Lakes, or if the recruit decides not to send home the paperwork, will be adopted out in large groups to area civic organizations."

Sherrinukemom, my sons in ship 09 div 015. Did you get a call yet?
Comment by Linda (navynucmom) on October 29, 2010 at 5:48am
Well, I didn't get a call yesterday, but Brandon's girlfriend, Lacey, did. She said he is doing well...all the numbness is gone from having his wisdom teeth pulled. He is in charge of folding clothes (whatever that means) and will be on the front row at PIR. He is G&G and is not happy about that. I guess his plane will leave sometime between 2-6am on Saturday, so not sure if we'll be able to take him off RTC on Friday after PIR or not. I had already heard he was G&G from mom (thanks Dawn), so I prepared his GF to play it up and stay positive. She said he seemed fine once they got to talk. He's running out of paper and envelopes and asked me to send some cuz he doesn't know when he gets to go to store again. He was gonna call me, but RDC started yelling at him to get off the phone, so I never got a call, but that's OK. I know he NEEDED to hear Lacey's voice. After a ll, I've talked to him 3 times already (for paperwork stuff). He said his division started with 90, now down to 81. That's all I can think of.
