I am so happy I just got to talk with my daughter for 42 minutes!!! We both cried while saying hello but soon got over it and had a great conversation. She is doing good and likes it! She said she loved getting all of the letters and told me not to miss a day – lol- She also said the winds were so strong yesterday that it reminded her of Whiney the Poo! Crazy Girl!

sherrinukemom: You are right about the candle. On here, we like to burn them while BStations is going on...but some get a blue light bulb instead because of the fire danger.

Yay me... i did finally get a call from my son. i was walking thru walmart when i saw the 847 area code and knew it was him. thanks for the heads up on the area code ladies. so i go running out to the car so i would have a good signal and plenty of privacy and i had not really even began to talk when he had to get off the phone. 3 min 11 sec thats all we got to talk. are you kidding me???? i'm glad i have the other ladies here on N4M or i truly would go crazy from lack of information. i just want to say thank you for sharing your stories cuz i have NONE... i wil be soooo glad when 12-3 gets here and this rollercoaster ride is over. i am tired of being a basket case all the time. cuz yes i went back in to walmart wiping tears and sniffling. people that know me understand, strangers in walmart not so much... maybe i will get all of my info in letters. if i ever get another one of those....only 1 so far....

Yay mesailormom!!! So happy for you! Sherri glad you are doing better today. That message would have me bawling for days!! lol

Still know call from my recruit. :( I don't understand why some in his division got to call and some did not.

thanks ladies! mesailormom, love the list! And I bet that the "you're the worst division ever" comment is made to all the divisions at some point!

As for the blue candle and blue star...I dont know all of it, but when I ordered my blue star flag--it was started by someone who had a soldier going to war, or deployed, and they were going to burn a candle during the whole deployment. A blue star in your window means your sailor is deployed, and I don't know but would gues the candle is for that as well. On the website where you can order the blue star flag, it tells the story...I bet you can google it as well.

What is the significance of the blue candle? I had one of my co-workers ask me..

Received a phone call (yay) and a letter! I just knew it this morning. Call was OK...he sounds exhausted and frustrated/dissapointed the RDCs say they are the worst division ever. Said he loved all the mail and to send pictures. He also said he did not have much room to store the letters so I will be sending an envelope to send them home (that was another N4M Mom's idea...thx). He was very clear they were almost 1/2 way though! I stayed strong- did not cry- and gave him all the encouragement I could muster. Now the letter was a little more specific. His brains are mush but he said: He wanted to be home because this is boot camp. He wanted boot camp to be over because he loved being in the Navy. If he did quit he could never live with himself. Really misses hug because hugs make a person feel loved and he could really use that right now!! List of things he misses: 1. not making his bed 2. sleeping in 3, going downtown to get a soda 4. hugs 5. showers without 30 other penises (sorry ladies) 6. being bored 7. mom, dad, friends and family 8. music. All in all a complete day for me. Still scared and anxious but 1 notch better. May you ALL hear from your SRs!!!! oxoxox

Hey ladies...
Just wanted to let you know, I'm better today...after missing my sons call yesterday...BOO!! But, he did get to talk with my hubby and left a message for me...I posted yesterday why I missed the call...anyway, I was heartbroken, but decided that (as awful as this is going to sound), maybe it was for the best...when he left me his "I just wanted to tell you....that I love you" message he did break down...so I'm sure I woulda cried even though I'm not a crier. My hubby, who is the crier, was able to talk with him and said he was doing great! Said it wasn't bad at all, and just kept him talking so that neither would be emotional....I knew it would be an emotional call, with all that I've read...I figured that it will be next week with that BIG change! I'm now waiting on the I'm a sailor call!!! He did mention that he received 35 or so letters on Sunday, and kinda laughed about the huge stack he had...not everyone received letters...he says it was great to get them. I did find out that some of the boys from DIV 10 with moms on here know each other...one went and found Michael.

Oh, for the mom asking about a Michael from New Hampshire...thought it was us, but we are DIV 10 and then went back and saw it said NEW hampshire...we're from a small town called Hampshire, so it's not us...Sorry!
