Has anyone with a loved one on ship 2 div 903 gotten any letters other than the form letter?
Just curious....
Thanks

Abbe'sMom: On the "asmo" question...if they are setback (removed from their division). they have to call you immediately from an office phone in front of Navy personnel. Very brief scripted call.

Ha! I think you all are doing great! A very ambitious group of ladies here. I went through my son's bc knowing hardly anything. No one on my grouop knew what "asmoed" meant when it happened to my son (setback). I realized then how important it was to drop in and help with what I have learned. Same as Jessica, Lala, Sobe, and some other great ladies who drop in from time to time. So just post a question when you have one....no question is too silly...and we will try to help. Thanks for compliment and congrats! He is stationed now, so I might be able to help with A School questions too. He was in Meridian MS for school.

Abbe'sMom: As you can see by the pik, mine is a sailor already! He PIRed in Feb. I just drop into the PIR groups to help if I can with questions.

Dianne: Is your son PIR 12/3? How did you find out that he was sent back a week?
Comment by Abbe'sMom(Ike CVN69) on October 25, 2010 at 7:40am
hisartistmom: I got a box from my daughter, but none of her clothes were in it. I called the recruiter and he said they are allowed to keep one set of their civilian clothes with them at BC.

Amy's Mom: I have a feeling that the "held" mail was distributed yesterday(Sunday). Hopefully there are alot of happy recruits today because of that.

By the way, start asking your recruits soon if any others are not receiving any mail. Get their names, and post on here that you have them in case any one here would like to write to them. Those wishing to write can "private message" you for the info. The recruits love hearing from N4M's and knowing that even those who don't know them care about them!

Emily, some of those may not have been sent home, but rather asmoed (setback) for one reason or another. I don't believe they are allowed to talk about it. My son was one of those....setback a week. Then he rejoined another division which was at the same point of training that he was when he moved out of his 1st div.

I saw where the 11/24 group got some calls over the weekend. So maybe next weekend for you all? Of course, there is no rhyme or reason as far as when calls come, so it is just better to be ready at all times.

hisartistmom: Your son may have donated all of his clothing, which is an option they are given when they arrive. I bet he has received his letters by now. They usually start receiving mail after being there for about 2 weeks.

i didn't get a phone call either , but not letting it get to me, they will call,i know they will, lets just keep our heads held high for our kids and just keep saying they will call and those of you WILL get letters and it is the best feeling ever.... They WILL call and they WILL write, it sounds like all the kids are feeling the same, wanting to hear from all of us. keep your chins up... or youll go crazy..
