Emily, I am understanding that they may have received mail either late Sunday night or on Monday...otherwise they will probably get it this Sunday...that is supposedly mail day for the recruits...so they'll probably have loads of mail this Sunday!! That should help them alot if you ask me! Hearing from home, I know Michael said he couldn't wait to hear from us!! They probably think we aren't thinking about them and have forgotten all about them since they don't have any of the mail yet...

Molly....My son didn't say anything about people talking about his accent....he's from TN and we live in the country and has a pretty good southern boy accent....wonder if anyone is noticing it or not...

hi all, Hope everyone receives letters soon! It was so nice and such a relief to get that letter. Our letter was what I expected....saying it wasn't bad and he'd make it, but that he missed us all and that made him sad....but all in all says he's doing great. He did mention they were all looking forward to PIR and were all starting the countdown!

My son (also a nuke) swears he would be home for Christmas. But you never know.

I thought I already commented earlier, but I don't see it. I'm so happy I got my first letter today! Hope I get a phone call soon!

Nursemom, Ryansmom, and Linda - I am sorry to hear you haven't gotten letters yet, but I'm sure they will come tomorrow. Ryansmom, my son was never much of a writer either and he told me he wouldn't be writing because he hates writing. Well, on his first little 3 lines on the form letter he wrote "I almost cried when I got my paper and stamps". Needless to say, I got 2 letters yesterday and his girlfriend got 3 long letters. So, fear not...he will write.

LovingMyCurtis - is curtis a nuke? my son is a nuke and he was told he would probably go to goose creek for a week or so and get settled and then would probably get sent home until after the holidays. I don't know if that will be true or not but his recruiter and nuke chief told him this.

i hope Curtis gets a phone call this week gosh that would be absolutly amazing... in his letters he already seems different he wrote in his letters how he can't wait till graduation so he could have me in his arms again. he also put how he can't wait till the day he gets to hear me say "I do". I knew how he felt about me but seeing it on paper is so wonderful. I have a question for every1.... Before curtis left for BC he had been told by the people at MEPS that he might get to come home a week in december because the A schools close for christmas... Did anybody else get told that? Oh yeah the promised that he would come home for 10 days too but everywhere i read says he wont get to come home until after Aschool.

I have not received a letter yet except the form letter with 3 lines at the end. But Ryan has never written a letter in his life so I wasn't expecting much. Hopefully I will get another 3 or 4 lines before too long.

I also have not gotten a letter But I did get a surprise phone call. There was a mix up with his direct deposit so he called to get the numbers. It was a short call but it made his mom feel better :) This is much harder then when he went to college.
