Thanks JessicaB for the info about R&R and light duty after wisdom teeth pulled. That makes me feel a little better. I would hate to think they would make him go right back at it with no rest to recover.

So happy to hear of lots of you getting letters! It is such a relief to hear from them. :)

I wish I could Xerox my letter, change the sailor signature and get it to you blue Moms. The letter will come and you will feel much better. Hugs with great understanding.

Melh1215, I haven't received a "real" letter yet...maybe tomorrow...or next week (sigh). I'm feeling a little blue today.

Thought there was no letter till the neighbor called. It was in her box. Reading....crying. Sniff. All is well. First week rough, Now he likes it and what he is becoming. Thinks his RTCs are the best! Wow !"They teach us GOOD and don't yell 24/7 like some". On head duty and in charge of everything trash, LOL. 12 recruits in that division...seems small? He says it is the best division in his opinion. He also said they may get a phone call this WEEK! OMG I feel better. dylansmom go check the neighbors box.

LovingMyCurtis: He will get your letters...probably already has....all of them! There is a delay in them getting mail...usually not until they have been there at least 2 weeks.

Molly: That first phone call is such an icebreaker. We can relax a bit after "hearing" their voices...even if they had some negative to say.
Comment by diannep on October 21, 2010 at 4:10pm
Stacy: Your letter sounds like the ones I received from my son when he was in bc. There was some negative, but positive too...and he always said that he would "get it done" and finish. That made me feel much better! And he did it!

BrainTreeMom: Doesn't he feel like THEY have the accents? I was to college in ALA....but am from S. Florida. They would tell me I had a "yankee accent" up there. Then when I came home, my parents would ask me why I was talking with a southern accent??? I couldn't win either way.... :-) So happy for your letter and that he is GOOD! Now....leave the mailman alone.... HAAA!
