My boyfriend of 3 years is in ship 09 div 009 and i have received two letters so far. I got my first real letter last Thursday and i got my second letter last night. He said that he hasn't received any letters yet which is weird because as soon as i got his address i started sending him letters.

I got one today! He did sound down in one part but good in another. He is in charge of his division, said he made lots of friends already and a few enemies. Hope the *enemies* part was a joke! lol He said the food wasn't too bad. Has already started the countdown til he graduates. No mention of anymore medical problems which is a HUGE relief!

The 9/2 PIR group had 14 divisions in it...now THAT'S LARGE! And one of the ladies in that group said she was an "extra" and not on the guest list, but got in and didn't have to wait to be seated until all of the guests listed were seated. Maybe because she was just one person...they may have made "groups" wait to make sure there was room.

BraintreeMom: Ok, LOVED "the crush on the mailman" comment....soooo, DO YOU???? It might help to PRETEND if you want your recruit's letters on time! :-)

HOOYAH, Sunny! So glad for your upbeat letter!

Yay!!! Got a letter from Meg! My hubby called and read it to me!! She says their RDC's are really cool; one looks like J-Lo, the other is "smokin hot", and the chief is crazy and looks like Mr. Clean.....all meant in a good way. She was very complimentary about all of them! She says she gets through the day by looking forward to chow, but never feels like she can chew fast enough to get as much as she wants. Says food is pretty good but imagines it will get old and has a list of food she wants to eat. At chow she was really craving mandarine oranges and low and behold they brought out mandarin oranges on the desert tray and so she said "small prayers do get answered"! Says they don't get outside much but when they do she knows she'll see trees and squirrles, and it will most likely smell like hot dogs LOL! She also said she thinks they will start receiving their mail tomorrow.....meaning Monday 10/18 since she wrote on Sunday 10/17. She was very upbeat, so I'm happy about that. I'm on cloud 9 for the day!!

Molly**Matt's Mom - I think what he's feeling is completely normal for them at this point, and I would agree with Lala, Division Clown makes others happy and think that you need to be happy and proud of that!

sandy - my daughter arrived at GL on 10/6. I'm pretty sure this entire group's (divisions 09-018, plus 903) 11 divisions mostly arrived between 10/4-10/8! I think the last training group of the Navy's fiscal year actually had 13 divisions graduating on one day, but yes this is a very large group!!
