Molly-being the division clown may be a good thing, maybe he makes the other recruits smile. I think you have to be happy to make others happy. I am sure he is doing fine. By the time we get their letters things have often changed for the better.

If any of you want to see how the recruits get into a "better place" after a while in boot camp, take a look at the posts on the PIR 11/5 and PIR 10/29 sites. You will see more excitement and encouragement reported by the recruits. They all get there!

Sandy, your PIR group has 11 divisions graduating on 12/3. That is considered pretty much an average size group. Not sure how many divisions are formed in a day, but once all divisions for that PIR group are filled, the PIR date is assigned and training starts.

Molly: Just remember, he may have been in a "low moment" when he wrote, and much better a little while later. Boot Camp is an emotional up and down...plus he is in the very hard part of this right now. The first half of bc is really tough...in all areas. It gets better as the recruits start feeling that they CAN do something right and they start looking forward to PIR. Try to picture your son when he becomes a sailor...because that will be an awesome moment!

To Sandy - my daughter arrived at RTC 10/5. No letter yet. And it sounds like there are several divisions that graduate on the same day.
