Hey! It's only 11 hrs from you to GL! I say....DRIVE! It takes me about 7 hours just to get out of the state of FL....so what's 11 hrs? I say....drive with Gus and surprise your daughter???? Bring a dogsitter with you to stay in the room with Gus for PIR so he doesn't get lonely... :-)

Ok, Sunny. Stay at Residence Inn...pet friendly! There was a Golden Retriever there when we were. Tell your husband that you want to take that whole week off and DRIVE with Gus rather than fly....make a vacation of it! Hooyah!

Thanks for the clarification dianne! My husband thinks I'm crazy, but I want to bring GUS to PIR with us. He thinks it's cruel to make him ride in the belly of a plane in a cage all by himself for 2 hours. I told my husband he was free to ride in the belly of the plane with him lol!! Honestly I haven't checked out the cost of flying an animal yet, but my recruit would just absolutely love it!!

Sunny: Ship 6 is for the injured and sick, Ship 5 is the "separation" ship.
I want to take GUS home with me please..... :-)

The picture of the dog - his name is GUS, we call him our PuppyPie even though he's 4 and no longer a puppy. He's half husky and half st. bernard, and we all laugh every time he goes to the vet when the vet says "I can tell you keep him on a strict diet because his weight excellent"......hahahaha......the dog gets more table food than any single one of eats. He's a people lover, and I'm sure Meaghan misses him as much as she misses any human at home so thanks Lala for the letter suggestion - we had a great time getting making his sign and getting him to pose for the picture and I had a great time writing tonights letter from the dog LOL!!

NukeMom - Not sure she ever really went to ship 6, or ship 5. I thought ship 5 was the medical ship. She's fine, just got a bloody nose that wouldn't stop so they took her to the ER across the street. When I got the phone call she was just waiting for them to take her back to her division and that was Tuesday last week - assuming no news is good news then all is well. She used to get bloody noses when she was little, like age 4-6 but grew out of it and I can't remember the last one she had except when she was little little.

NukeMom: If he went to Ship 6, you should have gotten a phone call. Anytime they are setback, they call with a scripted call in front of Navy personnel. So hold out that no news is good news right now!

Sunny I hope your daughter is ok! Did she get to go back to her division? My fear right now is that my son had to go to ship 6 instead of his division delaying PIR.

Tabbi: Just seems strange that he is easy going but had what they called a panic attack? I know you are anxious for details....I'm so so sorry. I hope they provide a chance for him of re-enlisting eventually if this is something that can be worked out...
