dalton'smom: I agree with you...try to get him to do it there. Much better chance of being kept in if all goes well. Tell him that your Navy Moms said for him to do it THERE! But as Sunny said, he may not call again right now. So prayers that he makes the right decision! That's all we can do right now.

Oh no!!! That's awfull! Not sure how often you'll be able to talk to him before the Navy makes him make a decision so unfortunatley you may not have any time or chance to convince him since the Navy considers him an adult. Here's hoping and praying that he sees the value in staying there and just getting it over with instead of coming home and starting all over again. HUGS to you and Dalton!

Bad news! Dalton called! He has a piece of bone in his foot from a fracture...an old fracture. We never even knew about it. He needs surgery. They said he could do the surgery there or go home and do it. He wants to come home. He said they said he can go back in 8 months after it has healed. I am SO upset. I am afraid he will not go back! How do I convince him to stay and how long do I have before it's too late! Please help!!!

sandy: I have a feeling that he was in such a frenzy when they were packing the boxes, that he just threw his telephone card in there. We try and tell the DEPPERS to have all of that in their wallets, because they are allowed to keep their wallets. Maybe he had the card loose in his pocket? They are being grilled pretty big time by the time they pack those boxes and there have been many things that have arrived home that recruits didn't need to send home because they get so rattled. Glad you are mailng back the telephone card. He can also purchase one in the NEX.

The recruits are all encouraged to eat at the airport before boarding the bus to GL. They will be up for around 40 hours once arriving at bc....they don't sleep that first night....too much to do. So they need FOOD!

Oh, one more thing....can anyone give me the website from the pamphlet we received with the letter....about the lodging....I found the "regular" website from the Morale people, but they don't list the codes I need for the weekend....unfortunately, my husband decided to clean house one day and threw that away:( the one time he cleans...

Hey all, yeah, I thought it was weird about the pants as well! Now we know and my hubby confirmed the reason...he was navy for 10+ years. Anyway, I'm wondering about the pizza...mine ate pizza when he got there as well...when we were txting him, the way he talked was that they were at airport and had to eat there and that was pretty much where they were told to eat...he didn't care as he loves pizza!! Thanks for the info on calling cards...am going to buy one today and send it today as well! Oh lalaRibbon Queen, very, very cute ribbons!

I had a friend request from someone in this group (PIR date) that was wanting a pic of the PIR ribbons I make. I got knocked off-line and don't know who you were, so sorry, please send me a message and I will send you the info. They are about the size of your hand depending on how many letters are in the name. You can use first or last name but most use the first. 800's div always use first name or Proud mom, dad etc. And 900's div who are in band or choir get a music note added to them. Here are a couple of pics. So sorry I lost your friend request. Thanks

I found the same kind of stuff. He had pizza at the airp9rtfm too. I even found a blank check that he didn't use (voucher).

lol, my daughter had a 500 min card and used it all up and had to call me collect lol. Sometimes when they get calls they get cut off (bad Phones) and have to call back, or you don't answer home phone so they call your cell, and sometimes they get an hour to call so they call mom, dad, bf, gf, best friend, g-ma etc. and when the pay phone use cost an extra 35 min per call it adds up quick. Some cell providers don't allow collect calls at all and if they do they are very expensive. My 12 min collect call way $12.00 (I would have paid much much more to talk to her lol). So even if your SR took a calling card think about sending another one in a few weeks. And if they didn't take one at all, send one asap.
