I don't understand why a calling card would be sent back unless it won't work from a pay phone. Maybe he will give an explanation in the form letter.

Julie - That's too funny about their pants!! Thanks for letting us know lol!

sandybg - I bought an ATT calling card at Wal-Mart - 500 minutes for $25 - it didn't come home in the box and when she went to the ER the other day they allowed her to call home so she's used it and it works......just in case you need to get a different kind! No - they won't be able to talk for 500 minutes, but minutes are deducted as a surcharge everytime they use the card - normally 30-45 minutes each time it's used. All is well with the ER situation - she got a bloody nose that wouldn't stop bleeding.

My son's jeans were rolled up too! I too am curious..... ALso his calling card (Dial 4 Less) was in the box. Do they have to have a certian kind or is it in there by mistake? I will mail it in his letter today - any ideas?? He is in Ship 3 Div 017 and got to GL on 10/7 late night.

Sunny....they have to roll their pants up for their boot fitting and they're never given permission to roll them down. I think it's funny.

My daughters jeans were rolled up too! Why is that? Anyone know? I'm guessing there's a reason so I'm just curious as to what it is lol!

Hello everyone and welcome, If you are just getting started on this site you are gonna love it. I am here to pay it forward. My daughter had PIR July 23rd, she was in the performing 900's division and she was in the choir. She had 2 wisdom teeth removed, she was a grad and go to Pensacola on a chartered flight. She graduated A-school Sept 23rd and is now on hold for c-school. Her fiance is in boot camp right now and he will also go to Pensacola for a-school. My sailor is now at NAS Oceana VA Beach. Sadly she is having a problem with her teeth and may have to have her other 2 wisdom teeth cut out today. I hope everyone has a great day and if you have any questions please feel free to send me a friend request. I love this site and I am happy to help. My name is Lora or as my N4M's friends have named me LaLa the PIR Ribbon Queen :-)

Got the box yesterday. I was happy to see it, but wasn't as emotional as I thought I would be. I went through all the pockets and even though I didn't find a note, founds lots of other stuff for the scrapbook. Dinner receipt! Pizza, of course. Boarding pass and USO paper and some other random papers. Those socks were ripe! Pants rolled up made me smile. Now waiting for the letter. These little things sure do help.

The photos added usually take a day to approve. When you add them, YOU can see them like they are there. But no one else can. I found this out the hard way when I posted one and no one could see it right away, but I could. The next day, I got the email that it had been approved, and all could see it then. Yes, every photo is looked at by the administrators of N4Ms before it is allowed to be viewed by others.
