Yeah, I'm wondering about 12/3 now too. We'll just have to hurry up and wait to find out! I'm on the CHAT tab - I want to get your sons last name and give you hers so that they can look for each other! I know there isn't a lot of contact allowed between boys and girls but it would be cool for them to at least look for each other anyway!

Got a call from Meaghan today :( she sounded so sad and very emotional when she heard my voice. She left on 10/6, and is Ship 9 Div 013 - Her division is still on P-Days and they haven't started Training days yet. She had a nose bleed that wouldn't stop yesteray and ended up in their version of the ER, I think she stayed there overnight because when she called me today she was getting ready to go back to her Ship. It was so hard to hear her voice and she seemed so down. I think they felt sorry for her and allowed her to call home. I just reassured her that it would get better; I promise.......then I bawled my eyes out when I hung up. I finally have an address today to send my letters to, but still no box :( - I'm a wreck and almost wish I hadn't heard from her because now it's so much harder knowing she's not in a good place (mentally) yet

Thanks Dalton's mom! I've had a lot of experience with obession....we've been crazily obsessed over our NON-WINNING SAINTS for years..and now we are Superbowl Champs...so my lesson learned is never give up, find out all you can, and as long as nobody dies...my obession is HEALTY...I'm okay, youre okay...:) Thanks for all you wonderful moms...I'm so enjoying this and looking forward to 12/3 and meeting everyone one of you.

Welcome to Bootcamp for Moms, Fiancees, Wives, Girlfriends and other family members! From the halls of the 11/5/2010 PIR group we say God bless each of you as you begin this journey. I remember well when our group started to form and the days seemed long and nights longer. The tears flowed easily and for seemingly no reason. I wondered if everyone smelled their recruit's clothes when the kid in the box came, or if they read the four lines on the form letter over and over till they had it memorized, if they watched by the window for the mailman even though they had been coming at the same time every day for fifteen years! I was sure by the time the first letter arrived I would have an ulcer and when a division got a phone call that formed after my sons' I was frustrated with the "unfairness" of it all. Mom boot camp was and is tough! However, in my son's last letter he said I am starting to feel like a sailor and of course i cried again. Why is this important, because you too will make it through. It will be crazy, it will frustrating, fear provoking, and quite frankly hell at times, but there will be funny moments like when a g/f wrote her recruit said one of the guys had passed out in the shower and had to be taken to the ER and then in the same day another was sleep walking an trying to put pillows in the oven. God bless her the mothers erupted because each was sure it was her son in the hospital and/or her son sleepwalking or worse their son's who would from smoke inhalation from burning pillows. Guess what everyone survived!!
If I could give each of you one piece of advice it would be this...every recruit screws up in boot camp. In the first few weeks your recruits will likely vent to you about "other" recruits who can't get it together and they got a "beating" (you probably already know this is intensive physical training) for it. It probably was your child and it probably wasn't. They all make mistakes, they all get screamed at. So relax, your recruit is no different than anyone else. What we have found the funniest in our group is that as mother we all assumed our child was the "troublemaker".
So good luck, God bless, write your recruits every day, get those letters in the mail, keep them positive, they don't need any bad news!!
